will the tree die if the new growth in the center (top) of the tree bends over due to heavy rain and wind?

It is in the nature of all Melanesians, to resist being ruled over by other people, whether in West Papua or New Caledonia or Bougainville. Even the coups in Fiji, secessionist movements in Vanuatu and Solomon Islands’ Malaita Eagles. As a Papua New Guinean Highlander, I fully support my fellow Melanesians fighting for freedom. May we never stop resisting colonialism.

Even though I was not born during that crisis period, I feel deeply sadden and guilty for what PNGDF and Australia DF done to them. I hope to go there one time and give my service to Bougainvillean. 😢 Truly God Have Blessed Bougainville.❤

Very informative. I just moved to a tropical region and was wondering what the yellow fruits on the palm trees were.

Foreign countries were behind this war just look at the factory made machine guns. They knew the power and economic wealth of the Panguna Mine brings to the whole nation of PNG.

The Bougainvilleans got scraps. Port Moresby was built with the mine money from Bougainville and other mines in the country. It’s not correct to say they benefited

My father (from London, England) worked at the Panguna mine in the early 1970's for about 18 months. This was before the civil war and before I was born - he always spoke warmly about the island and it's indigenous people. He died a few years ago, now I am keen to find out about the story of the island, it's history, lessons learned to teach to my children too.
