The sound used to terrify me as a kid as it sounded like a falling plane or a monster before i realised it was a BAE 146 plane. Then thought it was the 4 engines going into landing mode then realised it was the flaps.

Same here. I wasn't really a child when I took the Avro for the first time, I was maybe 15 something like that, and yeah I remember that the first time, I was scared and looked around but nobody was reacting so I remained calm, but I needed a couple of flights to realise it was normal as it was happening every time. Then I loved flying the avro ☺️

nice👍 vid i’d love to fly on an a220 for short & medium flights but mostly i always fly on the 737 & a320 for short & medium haul flights the a220 looks futuristic, way modern, quiet, spacious

It was nice. Flight was not full at all. Crew were nice. I was a bit disappointed that nothing special was done for the inaugural flight, no special treat of water salute on arrival.

@@gregolino86 Thank you for your feedback. Sometimes they can’t do water canon salute due to the temperatures hovering right around freezing.

Man those aren't flaps...they are called reverse thrust mechanism...it helps the aircraft to slow down by redirecting the air from the turbine towards the opposite direction!🫠🤌🏻

@@zigwoo999 I live near the Zurich airport. We still had Swiss Avro RJ100's until 2017 and I remember almost everytime they flew above us, I heard the flaps sound.

@@jadtoufeiIi oh my yes now i remember the takeoff noise!! Its funny how quick to forget such noises but also how aviation has changed as you dont get much noise from newer planes niw unfortunatly!!
