You are so right. WHY couldn't Mattel make this a ROOTED HAIR Ken? The sculpt is amazing but the Totally Hair Tribute Ken not having rooted hair is STUPID! Even worse than the Totally Hair Tribute Barbie to not have LONG hair. And then to put him on the short and skinny body!?! Come on, Mattel! At least put him on an original body! Looks 17 is fairly easy to find now for a good price. No, a great price! Hope you can get one or two when you get a chance.

Hola! La #10 es la única Barbie MTM con ese tono más oscuro hasta ahora. Pero pienso que para la hermana Afro-Americana de La Sirenita le quedaría mejor Barbie Looks #14 … es man fácil de conseguir y estoy de acuerdo que la #10 es intocable!!!!!!

Hi 👋🏼 They are two separate garments but the jacket it was sewn to the bodysuit on the front with two small stitches, probably to keep it from moving. They used black thread so it was impossible to see them! You can very carefully cut the thread with an x-acto knife and then pull the thread off.

Thanks for the review. I like how you mixed the white Tee and the white sneakers in. I should try that with my Kouture Ken. I would have preferred a better jacket over the big coat. The jacket looks and feels a bit unfinnished.

Hi! I just thought I could help you identify 80s/90s Barbies by sharing some information from a collector. - Barbies from this period (particularly the blonde ones) uses the Superstar Head Sculpt which was first introduced back in 1976, that explains the date engraved at the back of their heads. - Barbies from this period also uses the modified version of the twist n turn body with a straight line at the waist. This body was first used in 1966 but with a slight difference in the angle of the twist mechanism. - Some Barbie bodies from this time had stiff legs that could not be bent. They're usually used on My First Barbies or Ballerina Barbies. - Barbies from this time would also either have the bent arms with a hole for the ring, the straight arms, or the shani arms (also has a hole for rings). The straight arms would often used only on basic/budget or beach dolls. The bent arms would usually be used on the higher-priced dolls while the shani arms were used typically on collector dolls such as Holiday Barbies. - You can differentiate an 80s Barbie from a 90s Barbie by looking at their face and hair. 80s Barbies tend to have a warmer or darker shade of blonde which are made with saran type of hair, with their eyelashes painted in a lighter shade of blue. In the 90s, Barbies tended to have an icy or bleached color of blonde which sometimes almost looked like white in color. Those hair fibers were made from kanekalon. Barbies at this time would have black painted lashes or darker blue sometimes. - 1:23 is actually Perfume Pretty Barbie from 1987 - 11:09 is Russell Stover Candies Barbie from 1995 - 13:28 I couldn't identify this doll but she's either one of those Richwell Barbies made in the Philippines or a basic budget doll - 31:12 is Teacher Barbie from 1995

Congrats on getting him! I’ve been tempted to trim his hair but afraid to mess it up… yes clothes are hard to find ! He can fit all the broad Ken clothes . Etsy is a good place for clothes made for Buff Ken if you want to spend $$$

I have the swim Ken, and the Looks #4. In my canon, swim Ken is a handsome 18 year old college student and Looks #4 is a construction worker with a large family. Would either of them be better with a buff body? This would be my first body swap, and Looks #4 is now selling for $85.

First of all, I love that story line!!! Looks #4 would look so good on a buff body. I considered this but yes he’s expensive now so it’s hard to alter him… another downside is that most clothes don’t fit buff body and I love trying on outfits on him. Swim Ken would also look nice on buff. Maybe a construction worker makes more sense with big muscles? 🤦🏻♂️ let me know what you ended up doing!!!! 💕

Their branding is a little confusing… try looking for Fresh Dolls Rock the Bells OR Fresh Squad Anthony. Walmart still has him here in the USA… in fact, it’s a Walmart exclusive. Good luck!!! Really hope you find him ❤️

He is very good looking. Too bad he doesn't have his own sculpt name, is just AA Ken, that's a bummer for me who prefers to keep their mold name. The tan Fashionista in wheelchair also has no name and I was considering buy him for me, I got him for my little niece and she gave him a name. I prefer to keep on track of their info and keeping the sculpt name is important. Congrats on getting him, is gorgeous!

It's amazing to see this head sculpt be back ! First it showed up in 2011 and appeared for the last time in 2013 as the ATM Univesity guy. I think he is one of the most beautiful afro american male faces from Mattel and bringing him back in her darkness complession and in this new body style it's cool. I definitely want him,but as I see there's something going on and letting him difficult to purchase....
