Perhaps the show would have been better if we had different celeb kids. We've beeeeeeeen seeing Phila Madlingozi on screen, which is ironic because he's always talking about "leaving his father's shadow". The Mofokate kids were nice fresh faces but hopefully next season we get a new batch of celebs

You guys have touched on everything I also noticed. On top of all the chaos of the storylines and characters, Enhle Mbali's accent was another major reason that made it difficult for me to finish the season -- YOH! I couldn't dzzzeeeeaaallll!! I feel like there must've been a contract dispute or animosity behind the scenes because why would she risk her reputation like that LOL😭🤣! On the other hand, I really did like the chemistry between Khanyi and Mzilikazi ka Mashoban. I haven't really seen that kind of chemistry happen between "adults" their age -- it was giving "Black Old School Love" or Mom & Dad vibes. Although I feel that weird "sex scene" in the car after the date was so unnecessary. Overall, I would give it a 6/10 and my rating fluctuates depending on the episode🤣

I knew Piano Love was going to disappoint me, just not in the way that it ACTUALLY did😂 I thought it was going to be a cringey dance movie, with shallow romance storylines that just used famous faces to market. The moment I saw the trailer and some BTS...seeing that it was a drama that involves the typical crime that's always portrayed? The disappointment took a different turn. They should've focused on the music & romance part: Hip-hop being threatened, Sipho having an identity crisis of debating to adapt to Piano or not, Lerato facing the exploitation female artists/dancers experience, & somewhere Sipho and Lerato find a safe space in each other and fight against the ills of the industry together. There are variations of crime that can unfold to create drama instead of the heists, robberies, explosions and fires that Black Brain loves to use; split sheets, masters, royalties, not getting paid, Managers who scam, predatory Music Executives, etc. That's still South African story, not every story has to be about the "Kasi Crime Hustle". I could write a whole dissertation but overall this was one big gimmick with all the typical Crime & Drama gimmicks Mandla N has been using in his last few telenovela/soapies. It should've been called Kasi Love vele nje once.

Piano Loves’s narrative was so messy, they couldn’t come up with a singular narrative that will carry us from the beginning till the end. They introduced so many plots that make sense and had plot holes. It was not a well executed film at all. The acting was also really awkward because of some of the actors and also because the narrative failed the actors. Great Review guys
