Nice video.tnxs.I have to wonder if any pioneer boys, girls crossed the valley and ventured up this old mtn.If so,probably no trails.I hiked the face when younger and crazy.Saw a dead horse which had fallen off the top area.1978-79.And slid down a long snow field.

I've got a vague memory of finding this as a little kid and being amazed by the fact that there was a hot spring near where I lived. I used to go to Yellowstone a lot and loved everything hotspring/geyser related. I came back years later and the water was just mud and it smelled like crap mixed with dull sulfur. It was cool while it lasted. I'm curious how the hotpring formed though, and I can't find any info on it.

I wonder if you have to stay in a hotel or if you can just visit for the day. Do you need reservations?

For the cave enthusiasts, you really should go see the Whiterocks cave in Whiterocks canyon. North of the town of Whiterocks, which is North of Roosevelt, Ut. You have to schedule a tour in advance with the Forest Service. I believe it is the Ashley District. It is well worth the trip. I don't think there are any fees, although it has been many years since I have been there, and that may have changed. It is a guided tour, for several reasons. Mainly to stop vandalism. The only down side to that is they will only allow you to see parts of the cave. When I went on a guided tour , I was with someone who was old enough to have had the chance to go long before it was restricted, and he told me there is much, much more. Some of what he described to me makes me think they won't take you there for safety reasons, which is understandable. I wonder if anyone has video of a recent tour?

Aaah, memories! My family used to own CHS... 1977-1978. A short year, but a fun one! My dad bought it almost sight-unseen when his realtor buddy described it to him and the window of opportunity opened briefly, so -- he snatched it up! It was before all the renovations were done. My dad built us a zip line. It was paradise for a kid as I was in 5th/6th grade at the time. My dad, sisters, brother, and I would scrub out the pool each week and help clean the dressing rooms. We loved it up there and don't return as often as we'd like. Looks like they've created a wonderful place with so many upgrades that we couldn't have done. It's a real gem! Thanks for this video... I'm just now discovering it.

@@exploreutah1743 He wanted to shut it down to the public and get a few families on board who would live there. He wasn't allowed to do that as many life-time memberships were sold by the previous owners. My dad worked at Thiokol at the time, leaving my mom to run the place which she wasn't keen on over time. She was always worried about someone from the public who was visiting would have an accident or something -- the liability and such. She wasn't cut out to do that kind of work and run a place like that, even though they had hired help. As I recall, the same group that was poised to buy it before my dad bought it first came back to him and made him an offer he couldn't refuse, so he took it and moved our family back to Salt Lake. The new owners made all the improvements. I have visited a very few times over the years and it's still nostalgic in spite of how different it looks now.

The last 1/4ish mile before the waterfall is a WORKOUT with what feels like 45 deg uphill climbing over boulders. A nice hike, but a thoroughly exhausting one all the same, with a total elevation gain from the trailhead of 1560 feet!

Go figure: No dogs. As usual. No one seems to care about the thousands of deer and fixes and coyotes who pee all along the watershed. I guess their pee is environmentally friendly. Utah is such a dog hating state. It's because the people who believe to be sealed for eternity are dog haters.

Started skiing Nordic winter of 72/73 was in 2nd grade ... 83 senior year high school in layton we used to get together penny roles and coupons from local coupon booklets and ski it 2-3 times a week at night all winter! Left Utah in 83 came back to ogden in 06 to find same old family / local friendly great place to night ski getaway especially with the new snow making and low low nigh pass ticket costs Left in 09 ... Kinda shocked at the prices to ski utah resorts these days but with the right conditions and snow making I'm sure Nordic still delivers a great stoke and good time for any family without having to file bankruptcy!
