The intro is overrated and doesn't do what you're claiming it does. It's just silly. That's it.

Actually it only takes me 42 minutes to get to the main setting because I skip the god awful Cheer Up, Charlie song every time.

I dressed as Gene Wilder for a wax figure show I had to do in 6th grade because I had to pick someone famous from my state (Wisconsin) and all I could think of was Gene Wilder from Willy Wonka, so I dressed as him in Willy Wonka and still have the outfit 7 years later (I graduated in 2024)

I used to love this movie as a kid but growing up I began to realise just how much of a spiteful A-Hole Grandpa Joe is. Legit everything negative that happens to Little Chap, is directly his fault. And then at the end he attempts to sabotage Chap even further by trying to get him to sell the gobstopper to that other dude. Grandpa Joe is a nasty piece of work bro.

Personally, I prefer the Clutch Powers style animation. This just looks ugly.

I first saw BS (ooh! Just noticed that Brooksian built-in joke) on late-night TV in New York City, near the end of the 1970s. (I got asthma, I laughed so hard.) I then made a solemn vow to rewatch it wherever, whenever I could--which meant that, for a few decades, I only saw it on TV. (I didn't see the full, unexpurgated film until I was a gently decaying adult!) Here's what's interesting: the first time I saw it, in the seventies, ALL of the suggestive/rude words or terms were bleeped (or neighed) out, but every single racial slur was left in. By the time I last saw it on TV, almost three decades later, almost every single one of the "crude" lines were left as written--but all of the racial slurs were edited out. (This film is the only example of using slurs where I actually REGRET them being removed.) So, apart from its remarkably deep in-movie message, BS continues to be a shining social lesson just in its broadcast history!

Honestly, if gene wilder hadn’t come up with that strange walk- it wouldn’t have shown his true character and shown the bridge between “no one ever goes in there and no one ever comes out” genius.

What's funny is that while Sigorney Weaver played an aging sexpot, she was the hottest she's ever been in any movie before or since.
