She was really good as a Junior. I never really liked her attitude as a Senior. But she was talented. Now she is past her prime.

If you compare them at the same ages, Komova always had a much greater talent and potential, but Mustafina was always stronger mentally, had greater focus, and had much better consistency.

aliya going two 2 olympics winning back to back gold on ub and bronze on the aa plus two times silver on team and a bronze on floor is a testament that being mentally strong and being focused is the way to go, komova was a greater talent but she lacked the mental strenght of aliya

and if aliya didnt torn her acl back in 2011 im sure she would have swept the london olympics but she kept working hard and look at her she has had an amazing career and for me she is the best gymnast of de 2010s

Viktoria was pushed since a very young age to do a very hard skills and insane combos that was so exhausting for a kid, and Aliya has a more slowly process, with a great basic skills and slowly push her for a more dificult skills.

Quite clean, but i think her height cause the problem of her handstand. Her coach should really work on that with her. And hope she could be more confident in herself in the future!!

Ugh, such gigantic skills for someone so small and young. Had she had more consistency/less injuries she would have easily been Olympic AA champ. Easily.

***** True. Komova really missed her shot. Beam would have been a bit harder to be olympic champ in since she always has checks. But for UB all she needed was a normal-Komova style routine.

If you watch Katelyn Ohashi, that girl was awesome also. Also potential of Olympic Champion on Beam and AA. But because of injury, she miss WC 2013 . she already beat simone once in American Cup >.<. But yeah, Komova was truly awesome. I like her more in YOG in Singapore. There, she was totally blast and totally nailed it!
