Nicely painted figures and an interesting and gripping little skirmish. I do wonder how Lieutenant Pointer went from blue leader 2 to blue leader 4 in the final round? French ancestry rising up?

I just play warhammer, but this looks cool. Love history, especially war. Is there a separate game for every battle though?
@SmallBatchMiniaturesGameКүн бұрын
Hey! Great question. In historical games, the rules are usually based on what period of history you want to play. So in this case, the game is Sharp Practice, which the authors recommend for anything from 1700 to 1865. Tactics and technology were similar enough that the rules work for Revolutionary War, Napoleonics, and other "horse and musket" wars. So I'd say if you're interested in a particular period, I'd recommend googling "[X War] best skirmish wargame rules" and that'd be a great way to get started! As far as refighting particular battles, sometimes authors publish specific scenario rules for a historical battle but often times it's up to you, the player, to design the scenario based on your own research and the rules you want to use. happy to answer more questions!

Great looking terrain and a nice session. You even apply all the rules it seems which seems a bit of anomaly amongst many SB youtubers.

Thanks! Solo play is pretty basic, you create deployment groups and the enemies move and fight together Have some ideas for additional solo content in the future

Years ago I was looking for something like this because I wanted to create a campaign of scenarios based on the Anabasis. Xenophon described so many interesting tribes that they had to fight. I might have to pick these up. I like that there is no need to track wounds.

New subscriber - I play a lot of skirmish games, but haven't ever tried out Silver Bayonet - I recently got a ton of skeletons to build up, so maybe I will give it a try - the mummies were cool. Love your table. I was watching on my phone and on the tiny screen I thought your rock terrain were piles of skulls at first! :D

Hi. I just picked up a copy of the Egypt book. I’m a big fan of The Silver Bayonet. I watched your play through, and enjoyed it. But I was a bit puzzled why you made no use of the fate pool dice you had available to you (see pg. 69 in the core rule book). These would have allowed you to re-roll individual dice when you missed, reduced damage done to your guys (this would have been really helpful for you in this game), and redirected the movement of monsters. The Fate Pool mechanic is one of the key features in SB, and one of the reasons why I like the game system so much.

Is this campaign included in the nightwatch book or is this something you made up on your own?
@SmallBatchMiniaturesGame5 ай бұрын
Yeah Nightwatch Blood and Bone is built around a 7-game campaign, and for the individual scenarios I just picked a mission out of the list from the book! I just used the minis I already had and elaborated a bit on the story (desecrating the sacred spring in this example)

great video! Two questions at 6:08 (as I learn the rules). 1. why does rat need +6 save instead of 4+. 2. Doesn't shooter get 2 d10 and 2 d8 for shooting as this is his prime stat? Thanks in advance!
@SmallBatchMiniaturesGame6 ай бұрын
Hey! 1. for each grimoire charge that you spend on a cast you get -1 to the target's save. 2. Yes, the shooter should have gotten advantage (roll 2, drop the lower) in all his shooting, I'm pretty sure I forgot this sometimes though!
@Vlad65WFPReviews6 ай бұрын
@@SmallBatchMiniaturesGame looking at the rules closer, it may not be a grimoire charge as it was a shooting weapon, but some pistols cause -2 DD so I am guessing that is what happened

@SmallBatchMiniaturesGame7 ай бұрын
So I don't have the first version but I believe that there are more character abilities and enemy customization options. There's also an RPG lite narrative phase that I'm not doing in my playthrough but looks cool for playing with friends

Thank you for doing this and going through the rules nicely too. Very nice game, the discriptive of "heroine's " instead of "hero's " would be the flavor of those old 1940s and 50s swashbuckling movies and serialized TV that makes this period so nostalgic ally fun. 🏴☠️
