You really don't. It makes it fit more with the bass, but it is just a choice if you want it or not. However, if you make a song where the bass doesn't go that deep, a deep kick would feel out of place. And if your bass goes really deep, a quite higher kick will sound weak.

So I started using SW... and it changes the sound of my monitors alright. Drastically. But the weird thing is, my mix sounds exactly the same on every system as it does through my monitors... if I keep the software enabled during bounce lol. If I disable it and print the mix, it sounds like dog shit (everywhere). So a couple things: 1. What's the point in using it if my mix sounds the same on other systems as it does through my monitors? 2. If my monitors are accurate (which apparently they are), why did the software make such a drastic change? Lol I'm not bashing the software. I'm genuinely confused. I know people will say, "The software made your monitors accurate" That may be true, but in that case I would have to bypass the software when I bounce in order for the mix to sound good on everything else. But bypassing it ruins the mix... Idk man. It's a great idea in theory, but in practice I don't think it makes any difference whatsoever in how your mixes translate. Maybe other people have had a different experience

The software all about monitoring in YOUR room. So when you are Printing/bouncing your mix it is meant to be bypassed cause if you don't the custom calibration of your room will get printed on the mix too. If your mixes arent translating well with/without Sonarworks, I'd recommend keeping the software on systemwide and listening to music in order to get used to the new "Tuned" sound of your setup. This should help you 100%. writing all of this from personal experience!
