Everything was going well until @8:42 I sewed good sides together all on one side, then sewed the hem leaving a part open but then when it came time to flip it inside out to sew the other side I no longer had an the ability to sew good sides together to complete the other side of the dress because one side was already sewn together…..what am I doing wrong? Should I not not pass the hem next time?

I’m answering my own question - YES do not sew pass the hem so that one side will be left open. At least that’s what I think I did that worked - I unpicked one side and now my dress is done 👍🏽
