Hello, can please explain why 'souvenir' and 'yesterday' pronunciation of the kanjis were different than their on-yomi and kun-yomi versions?

Words like "お土産" (souvenir) and "昨日" (yesterday) are unique Japanese words that existed before kanji was introduced. Later, kanji characters were applied to these words, which is why their pronunciation differs from standard on-yomi or kun-yomi readings. In the video, I mark these words with an asterisk (*) to indicate they have special readings.😊

For this video, each individual pronunciation doesn't have a meaning, just like letters in the English alphabet have no meaning by themselves. For other videos, some have multiple subtitles available, so please try turning on subtitles.

Hello sensei your JLPT N5 videos really helped to ace my exam before. I have seen that you have like 10 lessons on N4 kanji that has like 110 Base kanjis more or less but shouldn't there be more for N4 level SENSEI?

I actually stopped this N4 series midway because the views weren’t as high, but I've received requests from a few other people to continue it. So, I'll start posting more videos next week.
