All the pstels you mentioned are far too expensive for a novice artist. The prices are so ridiculous only rich people can afford them. No wonder your art is excellent!!!

Full of admiration for your pastel drawings but without being disrespectful, why do you refer to the drawings as paintings?

Strong VOCs so let it stay outside for a while to cure. Wear a proper mask. Windy weather is an issue.

Not quite so, when I take a photo of a landscape, the colours produced are precisely true to life, sorry to disagree. I use Canon 40+megapix mirrorless equipment, and the colours have never, ever let me down

Desmond O’Hagan is probably my favorite painter of urban scenes in pastel. I found his explanation of his thought process throughout the making of a painting illuminating and interesting. I loved his explanation of why he never uses white. It makes total sense to me, and it very obviously works brilliantly in his method of bringing forth the chroma inherent in light. His paintings are a visual feast.

I am learning so much as I watch and rewatch this! I'm totally rethinking my approach to underpainting! Do we know where this resource photo was taken? It looks like California. And, is there someplace where we can see the final painting?
