His last touring band had 2 or 3 CMA or ACM guitarist and piano players, as well as a if not the top drummer in Nashville (per Bob) the 2 solos were different guys! 1st was long time Silver Bullett Craig Frost, the 2nd was Jim "Moose" Brown (ACM) and it was great. If you haven't heard it "American Storm" from the "Like a Rock" album is a driving rocker like this one. It had a cool video - like a movie with several actors. A deep, deep dive is a a song from his 1st album with the tirle "2+2+=?" Maybe the rawest Viet Nam era antiwar song I have ever heard, but in the Bob Seger mold - great storytelling and drives the point home. We left Viet Nam my freshman year in high school, so while I did experience it as a kid, hearing Bob sing "2+2=?" it's like being an 18 year old kid in 1967

Whole album recorded at home on a 4 track at home. Guitar and harmonica. Personal and heartfelt by a musician figuring out who he was and taking risks, my favourite Springsteen album by a distance. Thanks for playing

This performance if You'll Never Walk Alone is my favourite version ever sung of this song. And one of my top favourites from John himself. He sings with such passion that you feel every word. He has sung this song at quite a few charity events now. Which is another one of John's virtues. He is one of the first to put up his hand for a charity event. From supporting this event for deaf children or telethons to raise funds for other childrens charities or fund raisers for fire and flood victims as well as a concert and album sales to raise funds for kids in Rwanda, to travelling to war torn countries to entertain our troops who can't get home for christmas. Goes a long way to show the humanity that oozes from his very pores. No wonder we love him so much. John is not just a good singer, he is one of the worlds most passionate humanitarians who never seeks acknowledgement for what he does. People all over the world acknowledged the likes of Bob Geldoff's and Band Aid for the one off humanitarian song And so this is Christmas and even Michael Jackson's We are the World. And yet the world does not even know someone like John Farnham, who has been giving his time and energy to charity, ever since he began as a teenager, even exists. He doesn't need that acknowledgesment, but wouldnt it be nice to see his name up there. ❤❤❤

Michael brown wrote that beautiful walk away Renee, with two others who were not band mates. He was the keyboard player. His father was very involved in Michael’s life and also the band. Just walk away Renee is such a beautiful timeless piece. Steve Martin caro has such a talented voice. Michael and Steve came from musical families. Finn the last original band mate recently passed away

I couldn't think of a less understanding of working class life in the UK 1975 - 1985 then these two lower middle class American clowns... Strummer is expecting a roots rock rebel stance but realises that black people like other things, they like love songs etc. ie: he was wrong about black people are all political rebels, they want fun, love etc. Strummer is admitting his white, liberal stance is not shared nor should it be as it is patronising. The honesty is striking and a true lesson in being humble...

Denied US release as rubbish, reggae influenced tracked regarded as 'bowie played backwards' It's no accident that the genre skipping but conforming Album London Calling is regarded as great because in many ways it's old fashioned or contemporary for US ears. Compare to PIL, Gang of Four etc

Totally agree, I remember hearing the song in London way before Annie Lennox did her version. It stopped me in my tracks and is nothing short of a masterpiece. I sure hope 'The Lover Speaks' got paid their royalties for the song, they seem to have vanished from the music scene today.

'Carols By Candlelight' is a HUGE event in Melbourne at the Sidney Myer music bowl and park next to the Botanic Garden on Christmas Eve. I 'tune in' to my long deceased parents at this time as it was a family tradition to watch it together on television, as we lived in the country-side. There are many performers, a big amalgamated choir and an orchestra. Everybody joins in at the end of the night to sing 'The Hallelujah Chorus' which gives one the tingles. Looking out from the stage is a vista of lighted candles which the thousands of people in the audience wave in the air. Light, Love and Goodwill to all -- which when truly actioned by people in the world can lead to eventual peace on Earth -- at this special, spiritual time of the year.

Its a pretty big tour, including Europe. Cant wait 🤟 Thanks for this video ❤
