We really don't feel the need. Added expense. Added things to mess up. None of the benefits translate for us.

I totally get fossil fuel guilt, but consider the carbon that the military, heavy industry, the power plants that make the electricity that charges electric cars, Mega yachts and normal guy boats, all put out hundreds to tens of thousands of times as much pollution as your one single little gas vehicle does. I think my contribution is a tiny drop in the bucket compared to the yachts and mansions owned by environmental saviors that try to guilt me like Al Gore. And I’ve never been responsible for any of the bombs being dropped that surely make up 99.9% of the actual pollution that nobody accounts for. I am 100% sure that if you took away all of the yachts and A1 Abrams tanks and heavy ships that move around all those parts for your electric vehicles, my one little dirtbike would never have any effect on the planet whatsoever. Not even if every woman and child had one.

This is why I will not buy the C3 skinz. They do nothing to block powder for the airbox. Also the shift lever is wicked exposed and causes the bike to find neutral a lot when the snow is smashing it.

Yeppp, I had my last ride with Reagan a few weeks ago and while it was not bad where we went Keefer, I made the choice to go back to dirt. Pretty sure I’m building a ‘25 MTN Top next year. The old 18 KTM 450 won’t be going back to a snowbike I don’t think. Will have a dedicated snowbike by the fall.

If the aluminum dock doesn't fix the problem, another possible issue, is power. The vp needs greater than 11.5 volts to stay powered up. So if you have a small stator with high draw items, like big bright lights and vp on, partially discharged/weak battery, perhaps the draw is higher than the charge therefore the vp cycles off... Then on when volts are in excess of 11.5v.

My trail tech did the same thing. It kept turning on and off randomly. I bought the heavy duty aluminum dock station and that fixed the problem

There is a fun "Two-Up" riding section at the end, and then I jogged the last 7 - 8 km. I felt that for a couple of days. I don't normally run in big boots!

Funny, that same thing happened to my bike a couple days ago. Same bike 22 450sx. Found a broken wire after the connector behind the number plate bag. (didn't find it until I got home) but was able to bump start it using someone else's track spinning up against mine. Worked great and was the difference from ridding it out and towing it out.

I've had that connector corrode and make the button quit. I've also seen the grounding strap that hooks to negative terminal cause issues. If it is the switch, I love the Fly billet kill switches. Replaced the dumb kill/start switch on my 23 with two of them and they are really nice.
@dirtymatt48189 ай бұрын
with all that snow build up behind the number plate, should be using dielectric grease in those connectors to keep the snow/water out.

Those starter buttons get corroded inside from all snow melting on heated bars. Had same issue. Easy bush fix once you know the issue
@ChrisMason.3339 ай бұрын
My ‘18 450 SXF did that on a really cold riding day. Had heated bars on, was ice built up all over everything around bars and number plate, top of forks. Stopped at “The Rock” for a drink and bite and went to go again and was dead. Light wouldn’t even come on and I have the light wired into the diagnostic pigtail mod so I knew nothing was getting power after the battery. Ended up getting pulled my a fella in a group of sleds we were touring around and it started up. Cranked bars up and got on it hard for awhile and next time I stopped it started fine. Chad said you can typically just cup your hands around the starter button and breathe on it a bunch of times and it warms up any tiny bit of ice that may be inside the rubber boot. May not have been your guys issue but it only happened to me on a day where it was like minus 15 riding up there.
