Pizza now $16.80. Some shows ok, others mediocre. Better other ships. Jewellry shop, well prices questionable imo. The portions of food looked more than we recently had in Dragon Lady and Angelo’s. Need a torch to read menu in some areas. Looks like a more party sail away than we had too. Different cruise director. Ours loved herself. Geeze smashed avo, got one slice of toast with watery avo. You definitely got more for a full breakfast than we did. We got no big sausage, no real baked beans, about three mushroom pieces, miniature hash brown. There was no farmers market breakfast. Altitude was a fizzier my son says. They advertised a hosted meet up. Nothing was ever hosted. Even closed off to passengers on night so crew could party. Wow it is all gone down hill I’d say in a year’s time. We just got off this week. Thanks for the insight.

Yes I usually use insure and go. I usually just get the basic plan. At check-in, some staff check thoroughly, some just skim through it. Most of the time, they just glance at it.

When you board Ovation what documents do you need? I am Australian and cruising in domestic waters
@WalksForYouАй бұрын
Even for domestic, I would still bring Passport, driver's license, insurance doc, and boarding documents (hard copies). I'd have copies on my mobile as well. Should be an FAQ page with your cruise, but best to be prepared with all docs rather than forget something at home. Remember to print out your luggage tags too.

@@WalksForYou Thank you very much!!! I want to book a cruise for July/August 2025 from Sydney to South Atlantic. On P&O for two person for 9 nights it costs 1674 A$. Or with Carnival Splendor for 8 nights with worse stops for 1540 A$. Do you think the price will fall or do I have to book now? And which ship to you prefer Carnival Splendor or Pacific Advanture? Thank you!
@WalksForYouАй бұрын
I went on one of the Carnival ships many years ago (can't remember which one), but P&O food offering was much better. Carnivals buffet area closed way too early...not sure if they've changed that. But anyway, P&O had much better food variety in my opinion. Worth paying a bit more for that. In terms of cost, it's hard to say these days. I assume you're looking for South Pacific (not Atlantic). I'd recommend waiting a bit, maybe 3-4 months out and check the prices again. You can also check when they have black friday sales, although they usually just twist words around to make it sound cheaper. 3-4 months before cruise departure is usually my target...sometimes even 2 months before departure
@WalksForYouАй бұрын
if you find something for under $110/night per person, I'd say that's a reasonable deal in the current climate. I haven't seen much for under $100/night from my casual research recently

Hi Jennifer, Yes it was my first time on Royal Princess. Travel insurance was highly recommended from all the T&Cs I read. I paid $71.84 for myself and my partner with InsureandGo Australia. At the checkin, the staff usually just have a quick glimpse and let us through. These were the ports: Sydney Mystery Island Suva Dravuni Island Lautoka Noumea

I was on this ship May 2024 for Alaskan cruise. There was no pizza or actual cakes at the buffet like this video shows, just tiny shot glasses with morsels of cake. And there was 1 ice cream machine near the pool for 4500 people on the ship, the line for it was an hour long. The steaks in main dining were 1/4" thick. I had beef tenderloin one night, it was the size of a playing card and so thin I could see light through it. The breakfast buffet was good and had nice variety but the lunch buffet was disappointing. It was the first cruise I've taken where I think I actually lost weight.

Yes totally worth it coz you paid the driver $150 for each car! You wouldn’t mind paying $150 for a short ride if that was Australia or New Zealand. That’s $150 divided by 5 hours. $30 an hour for a private tour. That’s CHEAP!!! And for $5 at the Nadi temple. You missed out on amazing wall artwork. It’s the biggest Hindu temple in the southern hemisphere

I found this interesting because it was only yesterday I decided to get a private driver when in Lautoka after much research. Was that all for 5 hours? What time were you allowed off the ship and what time did you have to get back on by? We dock at 7am and leave at 4pm, but not sure of what shore time we actually have. I’d give the first landing site and temple a miss to see other things. Did the driver decide where he was taking you? I need to do more research I think. Definitely would go to see the orchids. How long were you at the sleeping giant orchid site for approx? Where did you have lunch? I think it was worth $300 as you are hiring the voyage and not x2 people in comparison to what the cruise lines charge for excursions. Did you think it was worth it? Awaiting eagerly your response. Thank you.

Great video and a great deal for you too! I wish I could tolerate inside cabins. Having a balcony for me adds so much to my cruise that the savings attributed to inside cabins just don't resonate with me. Maybe for a 3 or 4-night cruise, but not for a 12-day cruise. Interesting how the Rooftop Garden plants stay covered for Australia/NZ cruises. I imagine that would take away from the otherwise lush and green appearance of the area. Too bad.
@WalksForYou7 ай бұрын
yeh I was a bit disappointed that the plants were covered on the top deck. Although there were some real plants in the Eden area. Pretty cool!

Can you walk to the snorkeling spot?
@WalksForYou8 ай бұрын
If you're fit and healthy, it should be a nice relaxing walk to all the snorkeling spots. I didn't go to the other side of the island, but according to the map, there's fish. It might be less crowded too. Or you can try the far right once you get off the pier. That's where I went. On the left of the pier, there's no fish. Map says there's no fish there too.

All the fruits and vegetables are organically grown the black round shells you saw in the Suva market those are fresh water shells you put them in the pot with little water and cook for 10 to 15 minutes as soon as you see them open up you remove them from the pot and you squeeze a little lemon and bit of chillie pepper you remove them from the shells and stir fry them with butter and garlic they are very delicious Fijian people shouldn't be hungry they are so rich in so many things either on the land or sea they can find food anywhere ocean or river.
