Ordered this kit off Amazon and used this tutorial as a beginner guide. Probably the worst video to use. The measurements were incorrect which caused frustration and waste of material. Even when adjusted to the proper measurement as advised in other comments, it still does not work. I'd advise using longer then 72 inches to avoid frustration and actually complete the project

Is it possible to make these with yarn rather than hemp cord or will it turn out differently? I have a bunch of 100% cotton yarn

ok multiple problems - i just watched the tutorial and cut the first set the size of 36" as per the video - then felt well this is not right so read the comments and saw the error , so then cut 6 more stands at 72 inches wchich then in half is 36 " which is still very short - the braided strands also become MUCH shorter so near the end i did not have 2 or 4 " left - and so 6 are really short and 6 are still really long - how do you compensate for the braiding that shortens the strands? or what am i doing incorrectly
