It was one of my favorite shows ever. It seemed so hip back then. It was like the original "Friends", but more realistic.

Norton is rude, talks too much and isn’t as smart as he believes he is. Great questions though

I wish he'd discuss how comedy evolved such that it used to be that you'd possibly get in trouble for being 'anti government' (Carlin and others epitomized this), but this has evolved. For the last 10-20 years the mainstream comedians have not only been entirely *pro* government, but they have lampooned anyone that is against the government as being 'rightwing' or 'conspiracy theorists'. This of course is dangerous to society because it means there is no effective checks and balances of government policy when 'the comedians' such as Colbert are ridiculing anyone that is in opposition to the government.

Excellent segment; I could have easily watched an hour with them. Jerry mentions that Tony Dow was a junior champion swimmer. Here's a bit of Wally Cleaver (Tony Dow) sports trivia from "Leave It to Beaver" that I discovered rewatching the last few seasons of the show: Wally was a FIVE-sport varsity athlete at Mayfield High: football (team captain and third-team all-state QB but too undersized for a football scholarship to State), swimming (team captain), basketball (scored 12 points in a game), baseball (threw a no-hitter), and track (sprinter [100/220 and relay]; missed the big meet in Linwood due to a towel-throwing incident in the locker room).

Like many people from the UK, especially the older generations, he has such wonderful manners, but you can tell he knows the true score and sees situations and people for what they truly are.
