Will be most secure when strapped to a sissy bar. But you can try to use with a luggage rack if you want.

If you want to install a sissy bar along with the saddlebags, you will need longer mounting bolts than the ones we provide for both to fit securely.

Hey thanks for this video. I've been thinking about getting some stock Yamaha leather bags for my XV1600 AS, but have now changed my mind. Yes, this is maybe the best way to go. Good looking bags. Now I don't have to find a stock set of iron bag supports as these bags come with all the necessary hardware. I'm sure it's a darn sight lighter than the stock supports.

This doesn’t work on a Honda Rebel 250. Seat bolt holes get covered by the yoke.

I bought my Mean Streak almost a couple years ago and it came with these bag on it. I had to take them off to install a back rest, man it's a pain trying to figure out the right bolt size and length to use. Also had to retap one of the bolt holes in the frame because it was stripped. I'd keep an eye on the bottom of the bag over the exhaust. Mine has a big bald spot from the heat, and inside the bag gets super hot, melted a plastic water bottle a bit, made a mess in there. I bought a flex stick on aluminum heat shield, putting on next week. Just a heads up!

Had these but could not get over how big the gap is from the bag to the fender. Ended up returning them. The quality and storage space is great though. Loved that they are waterproof and lockable. If they ever come out with a version that mount directly to the frame, eliminating the gap, I would grab them in a heartbeat

Nice. The manufacturer states that these will not mount to a 2013 R1200GS. I ordered them and going to try it anyway. The frame is the same size and the mounting looks the same. We will see.
