Hello, I've tried patching this custom starter patch to V 1.1 Crystal vanilla rom and it's saying patch is not intended for this ROM. I've tried the standard patch and the _it file aswell with no luck. Any suggestions?

I played the fire red like a decade ago. and this is close to how I won the pokemon league too. I had Blastoise level 55 or something followed with 5 other good pokemon but only Levels 20-25ish. Used all revive, restore, elixir etc on Blastoise to keep it alive till end of the league and won my first league lol. But then things changed as I trained more pokemon and eventually won the league like 50 more times with all six pokemon above level 90 and blastoise at 100. Those good old days

It's much easier to do in Yellow, because no RNG manipulation is needed in that game to do it. In Red/Blue, it is required to use RNG manipulation and different item management to not get a game crash.

The glitch pulled off is known as stack underflowing. A series of events pulled off in a certain sequence 'trick' the game into thinking the player has -1 Pokémon. Performing the correct sequence allows the player to manipulate the RAM and by extension - the player's coordinates in the game. I am therefore able to manipulate the coordinates to be at the Hall of Fame, thus completing the run. Everything is important in pulling this off correctly. This includes the RNG manipulation before the run starts, player name choice, rival name choice, and even the exact tile the character is standing on. Doing any step wrong can produce different results (most commonly, game crashes).

After some more testing, there appears to be some internal physical damage to the Black 2 cartridge, resulting in all 4 of my DS systems not recognizing it. Still, getting 3 working games for $80 is not a bad price in the end.

I guess this is an any percent run with no manipulation. Popping repels to catch a high level magikarp to use for the rest of the run as a gyrados.

For the category, Gyarados is fastest. Repelling guarantees a Level 50 appears.

Could’ve killed time with boosting with dragon dance both speed and attack to avoid taking those extra two turns or just gave more attack for earthquake to kill his bulkier Pokémon

Unfortunately we catch Gyarados at Level 50 as a Magikarp during the speedrun, and then evolve it via Rare Candy. Dragon Dance is learned at Level 47, and going to the Move Relearner isn't worth it in the speedrun time-wise. As far as putting in extra Attack, I could have only set up 1 more X Attack, and it would not have helped at all. The crit would have happened the turn the final X Attack was set up anyway.

These aren't recent battles, these are from a few years ago. But yeah battles are occasionally still a thing. Not nearly as common anymore. Also yeah Solar Beam Solgaleo was definitely not expected.
