Is this what you are showing the collector pipes/canal? if so, is it usually located only along one of the short sides of the rink? do i understand well this is located along one of the short sides close to the refrigeration plant?
@lluhu29 күн бұрын
hi there, I would very much appreciate if you could give me an answer. In my project, I can't place all the refrigeration plant (250m2 or 2700 square feet) in the same floor as the ice field for reasons of space. I could place 50m2 (550 square feet) in the ice field level and the rest (200m2) in the floor directly above. Or I could put it all together in the floor above. What of the two options makes more sense in your opinion? If placed in two levels, roughly what would make sense to locate in each? im considering an indirect CO2 transcritical system. Any input would be very appreciated.

Love the video! Couple questions, these are only done for dry cuts I'm guessing? And are they good to do after having hockey players skate around the face-off dots a million times leaving really deep grooves and ruts in the ice in those areas (I play hockey so can be blamed for causing this problem too lol)? The rink I work at has this problem a lot and now that we're getting into our busy season with public skates and college games/practices the times for a good ice maintenance session has shrunk quite a lot. On average we have 10 minutes between events for wet cuts (a few 15min ones sprinkled in here and there) except for the closing cuts but every so often we'll have 30+ minutes so try to squeeze in a dry and a wet in those slots, but the ice is still really tore up by the end of the night.

You wouldn't have sharpened, you replace them. They do gouge though, but that's when making an extreme cut/turn with a small radius. They're a personal preference -- i doubt the white plastic would stand up to a shot over 85mph. But they're fun for public skate. They have to be oiled WELL to be able to use them a second time.

Have you ever heard of any method (ultrasonic, radar etc. ) to measure ice thickness without the need to drill ??? Trying to find a less tedious method with good accuracy. We have 4 pads, this is a daily task for us. Thanks !

Interesting. I've seen a lot of arenas paint the logos and the creases. I was shocked to seem the being picked up off the ice. How do you get things to lay so flat and be lined up correctly.

Hey, I know this is an older video, but if you’re able to answer that’d be awesome. Should it be a concern when tapping if the paint comes up at the bottom as the drill bit hits the concrete? I have this issue when doing depth checks and it discourages me from being perfectly accurate

You can make life a lot easier by using a chalk line and use a dark colour and string the whole rink out, or atleast the red blue and goal lines, hash marks.

For marking the lines and dots, could you install something in the concrete to see through the ice so you dont have to do so much layout when you have to drain and rebuild the ice?

A quick band aid for that would be to drill it out and put a mechanical tee with a plug but that’s on a quick fix not proper permanent fix. That’s looks like thin wall pipe on a wet or dry system that’s seen its life expectancy. I’d look into getting all that main pipe replaced cause it’s going to keep happening.

Usually when a scoreboard is updated...they replace all the LEDS. So all the LEDS should be fine.....also looks like you have the scoreboard on BRIGHT.....those have a Dim setting for indoors. To add to your list....theres also light bulbs behind the score,penalty and quarter panels. The panels just slide off....
