Do you even know what General Effect is? Getting the crowd involved impacts your General Effect score. Considering basically the whole stadium was involved... that counts for something. I guess I would get the frustration of you putting down a classy organization if you guys came second to us but.... we’ll leave that there. And to say this show “makes no sense” - it’s literally put right there in your face. It’s a bunch of well arranged songs put together from the legendary Elton John. Which, again, adds to the General Effect score by clearly portraying our show theme. You guys have a great organization and I think the only school that can hold a candle to your guard is Noblesville (lets be honest). As a former Marching Highlander from the Highland HS vs Muncie Southside HS era we’ve always had a healthy feud with you guys. But there’s no reason to put down a show because it won over not only the whole crowd but the judges. Give credit where credit is due.

Adrienne Blankenship okay first of all it didn’t win over the crowd cause we won fan favorite at the end of the day. And second of all saying noblesville could beat us girl please they are irrelevant. And third yes I do know what general effect is sweetie. And fourth of all I’m saying it don’t make sense because it’s just a bunch of songs. Our show had a whole them about a king having to much power and then getting dethroned. So before you try to come for us again let’s see this band right here try to do our show that we did and then you can say what you want if the don’t have any problems with it. So sweetie bye

Jerry Lynn It’s not about how complicated it is, it’s about how well it’s done 😉 You guys have an amazing guard program. But , let’s be honest with ourselves... how does this not sound like a marching band? Because the music was played well, made sense with the title of their show, and was genius arrangement? If that’s not what marching band sounds like... then I guess their not a marching band 😂 It was flashy.. very flashy.. but do you even know Elton John? He’s the definition of flashy! And I believe you’ll read in another reply to one of your other posts... GENERAL EFFECT partially deals with how you get the crowd involved in your show! And I would like to mention - I actually sat in front of a group of Muncie Central fans who sang and clapped along with our show. Not a half-attempt either... like full on singing and clapping! The whole stadium was involved.

Adrienne Blankenship it’s funny how you said the crowd liked it but who won fan favorite again. Oh yea Muncie central did y’all must’ve forgotten that. But if you look at the history of the people who have won this show looks so pathetic to them because of how easy and underwhelming it is. Like what is the them like what story are y’all telling cause I can’t figure it out at all. Okay just because Muncie parents were involved don’t mean they liked it. In Muncie we clap for everyone when the perform unlike certain other bands. And thank you for saying we have a good guard program cause we have the best 🅿️. But let’s see who wins next summer cause really

I’m not stooping to this level - you guys have an excellent guard program. This show was entertaining. I’ll say this again - the theme was clearly Elton John... the music was Elton John, the flags were Elton John, the guard outfits were Elton John, the piano play was Elton John.... do you need me to keep going? If you can’t figure that out... I don’t know what to tell you. Great job to all the bands at SFBD ❤️

Carsyn Knight - It’s not about how complicated the show is , it’s how well it’s executed and the entertainment factor. Hence why they received Best Music and Best General Effect captions. The music was executed terrifically, tonality was spot on, no ‘blatty’ brass, no squeaky woodwinds. General Effect - the crowd was into it and participating, the show Sir Elton clearly was represented by the playing of various Elton John hits, plus they have their own “Elton John”. Coming from a former Marching Highlander with 3 championship titles under her belt, I’d have to say you’re wrong in saying it was an “easy” show and “that’s the only reason they won”. They won because the judges believed they had a better performance than 40 other CITSA bands. All 40 bands worked hard to perform at Band Day, so congratulations to all!

While they did win State and were at the top the whole season, it is fun to note that they didn't win their home competition and didn't win crowd favorite as well.

Definitely shouldn’t call it an easy show. I was a super senior this season in Anderson and it was probably the hardest show the band as whole has had since I’ve been involved. We (along with all the other bands) put in hard work and we got a great outcome. The show was meant to be fun and to get the audience involved, which is a totally okay and even encouraged thing to do in track competition. It is an amazingly designed show and the band (which comprised of roughly 33% new marchers pulled it off and were all true performers at both the day and night show.

Cause you know who won crowd favorite. Muncie central did because we had the best show at the end of the day 🅿️.
