What Debbie did was horrible tricking him into getting her pregnant. Still think it was very cowardly for him to just up and leave without confronting her. And then for his family in the rest of the series giving the excuse that he's "Young and scared" and to them that's perfectly fine for him to completely abandoned his child and not confront Debbie. And then once she's born and Debbie raises her on her own, they just decide to change their mind and take the baby, that family gives mixed signals like crazy.

Debbie's character is the rare case example of a female fumbler. Also, I understand the viewers that are trying to be sympathetic saying Debbie just wanted a way to be a part of Derek's decent family but what pisses me off about Debbie's character is how it's only really her parents that are shitty to her. All of Debbie's older siblings loved her a lot and tried to protect her before she chose to get pregnant. Literally all Debbie had to do was listen to Fiona, stay out of trouble, and take things slow with Derek and she could've been living the dream she always wanted. If anything I can blame Derek's family for, it's them not trying harder to work things out with Debbie. I think for the sake of the baby, Derek's parents could've talked to Debbie and agreed to take care of the grandchild for them while the kids get older and more mature and hopefully Derek comes around to being a dad even if he doesn't want to be with Debbie anymore. For Franny's sake, they could've at least worked their way up to a healthy co-parent situation.

They were so wrong to kill-off Swrek, not that Debbie deserved him but the show did. Then of course there would be more actors in the cast than Gallaghers.

Whether she tricked him or not, he had a baby. At least the family could have stepped up and helped instead of leaving the child with a teenage mother and getting twisted trying to take the baby away when she struggles.

I know it’s the point that Debbie isn’t supposed to be a good person and all, but I will never forgive the writers for completely decimating her character. They still could’ve gone the route of making Debbie a teen mom without making her this irredeemable person.

She was just trying to get out Ik she did it the wrong way but she just wanted to be loved and derek made her feel that and so when she would get protected by derek from people she loved how it made her feel needed and secure so when she seen how dereks family helped out Tanya she thought maybe it’ll be the same for her so she tricked him into getting her pregnant which is so messed up but she was trying to do anything to make her and dereks love last so she’d always feel loved and wanted can you blame her you’ve all scene the way she grew up not saying that It makes it okay that she did what she did and him leaving is what finally made her realise I wish he wouldn’t have left the way he did

Derek’s acting is actually horrendous

Honestly if debbie wouldnt have been so insecure and obsessive she could have been a great character and the example of not having parents in a kids life with a negative impact she had no consideration for him just a way to trap him

I wonder if it was something with the actor behind the scenes. The scenes don’t add up he’s in school paying a lunch fee and has a project for shop class he’s late for then just disappears. They nuked this character worse than Jimmy/Steve then killed him years later.

This is a warning for guys. Not all women/ girls do this, but some do, like some guys lie about using a condom and such. I've known females who lied about being on birth control, so even though a female tells you that she's on birth control, still wrap your Johnson. Double wrap it if you have to. Females, if a guy refuses to wear a condom, develop a " No glove, No love" attitude because you don't know who he's been with and what he could expose you to, and you can still get pregnant unless you're on reliable birth control. Yeah, birth control may take the romance out of sex, but so will a baby crying because they're hungry, need their diaper changed, or just want attention, heaven forbid they're sick.
