The Earth whispers softly, “Balance, be still,” In nature’s rhythm, the heart beats to fulfill. Net Zero seeks the harmony we must sow, And Carbon Neutral’s seeds in the soil must grow. Let’s walk closer, where trees and wisdom share, For all our journeys begin with the air.

I admire the way this sector of countries (Europe) focuses on consumers and sustainability first. On the other hand, in my country is necessary to give benefits to companies for them to be a B corp, at least in the majority of cases. Like this video, I think skateholders should always win.

Ryan Kugler's first film, Fruitvale Station, based on the killing of Oscar Grant is a wonderful and intimate film. I am so glad we saw it in Oakland where it took place in an audience heavily black, but not exclusively. Kugler went on to direct Black Panther. Oh yes and, The Help which you can watch free on KZbin is pretty wonderful too.

Poverty and low education are the main causes of climate crisis - poor and less educated people are desperate and will cut down trees for fuel, and to clear land for crops, cause soil erosion, poor soil fertility, droughts, flooding, famine, etc., - there is more to the climate crisis than just carbon neutrality or net zero and a bunch of other jargon. Fix poverty, and effectively provide better education to these people with low access to good education, and we could reverse this climate crisis. Helping poor communities by offering better alternatives to fuel and providing better ways to grow crops without clear-cutting trees, and providing better education would be a good way to fight climate change - in addition to rich people and developed countries cutting back on fossil fuels and switching to better alternatives. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4WpnK2qmNSAjMU

Can we implement action from net zero context (e.g replacing fuel based engine to battery) and carbon neutral (e.g non distrubed land watershed rehabilitation)? What should we call that company, net zero or carbon neutral?
@betternotstopchannel2 жыл бұрын
very interesting question, we can do activities to be carbon neutral and/or reach net zero but maybe not be both at the same time.

Great tips 🤩 I love using Vinted for clothing items, for me, my husband and the kids too. I never buy books brand new, they always come from family or charity shops. I found a solid shampoo/conditioner bar in home bargains last week! There is a refill shop near where I live and they have a zero waste deli above them 🎉

That is zero carbon. Net zero is capturing emission at source 😷😷😷
@betternotstopchannel2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment. Zero carbon means that no carbon emissions are being produced from a product or service. Net zero refers to the balance between the amount of greenhouse gas produced and the amount removed from the atmosphere.

@@betternotstopchannel yes , correct but in your initial statement you said net zero is no carbon , it means no emission of c02

Super informative thankyou ! I understand the differences between the two now, honestly wasn't sure there was one until watching, it would be awesome to hear about what steps as an individual I can take to have a bigger effect - I hadn't even considered my pension, or bank account etc, I get that having a reusable coffee cup is good but it would be useful to learn more about the "invisible" ones :D

@@starburleigh5107 Well its to make sure only businesses that have the highest standards in social and environmental impact are able to become B Corps - its a true achievement when a business is able to become a B Corp. There are some great data driven insights on why being a B Corp creates better businesses, better places to work and have a more positive impact on the Patagonia site. We help many businesses through the process and it's a way to really create bigger impact and show the values you want your business to live by
@jesscox96643 жыл бұрын
@@starburleigh5107 80 points sounds like a low number but is actually really tough to get - a business that’s operating at its usual shareholder capitalism self, scores on average around 40-50 points when they first start the assessment. From there, they have to make changes in the way they operate their business, in a transparent and accountable way, in order to increase their score; which is often in increments of 0.1-9. If you are as passionate as you sound about accountability within businesses for their role in the downfall of the planet, I think you should genuinely check it out a bit more, you may be pleasantly surprised.
