Who do we go to if we know fraud is being committed? Most are afraid of repercussions for reporting. 14:40

I’ve watched the film and the documentary about this individual but neither went into the detail you’re giving here - excellent podcast 👍 and totally shocking - did no one connect the dots with this man or was it a ‘burying one’s head in the sand’ attitude - move him along and he’s someone else’s problem. Shocking and outrageous.

Hi Angela, Yes, the hospitals passed him along to the next unsuspecting facility. They settled the civil lawsuits that resulted.

I think after a while, hospitals would start charging you because health insurance would stop covering and EMS might even stop showing up...they told me after two hypertensive crises that the next time I would have to drive myself.

What qualifies a nurse to review extensive complex medical records and determine if an actual doctor with more than twice their training and experience has met the standard of care or not?
@LegalNurseBusiness
@LegalNurseBusiness 3 ай бұрын
Hi Steve, nurses are responsible for understanding the responsibilities of physicians because we must question them if they write inaccurate orders. We are their safety net, and capable to recognizing when they are making an error.
@Steve-wf3vv

@@LegalNurseBusiness I don’t know of any doctors who invite their nurses to question their medical judgment. How many victims of medical negligence have had their lives further devastated by a nurse’s failure to find malpractice in their records that a real doctor would have been able to identify? Ask any potential malpractice client whether they want a nurse to review their records for evidence of malpractice or a doctor, and I guarantee you 99.99% would want a doctor. Unfortunately many lawyers insist on nurses because they’re cheaper. But you get what you pay for. No malpractice victim really wants you reviewing their records. They’re just stuck with you because most lawyers insist on this cheaper route. Quite frankly, you really ought to be ashamed of yourself.

@@Steve-wf3vvI’m going to respond on behalf of this colleague. As a nurse and also APP you are way out of line. You seem to be a med school failure or maybe just a failure in life itself…either way if you are neither a nurse nor physician or any type of member of the health care world I advise you to stay in your miserable lane.

You are making amazing videos❤❤ I noticed your KZbin channel and you're doing great! I have some ideas on how to boost your audience and engagement. You should improve the title, add an end screen, and add more ranking tags (According to your Content) on the video tag section. Also, please share your video on different social media sites. Then your videos can easily reach out to your lovely audience. Your dedication and video concept for your channel is imposing. you're doing quite well. However, your content is not reaching the desired number of viewers. By doing so all your needs will be fulfilled and all the best for your journey on KZbin.

In 2016 I walked in for heart surgery and left 120 days later on life support unable to walk, talk, or swallow after they finally were able to get me off the fourteen days on the ventilator during which I coded dead twice. I lost everything I had. I had been an attorney and a tenured law professor. Now I live in poverty.Not a single neurologist of the 14 who have examined me since ever heard of such a thing. When I explain my condition to them: Tapia’s Syndrome, Embolic right hemisphere stroke so no MRI lesions (clean as a whistle) Arnold’s Cough reflex, Disphagia ( I can’t eat food that must be chewed) and Disarthia they don’t believe me. They must think the dozen or so file boxes of medical records and $989k hospital bill was fabricated walked out of the last “consultation “ when the doctor screamed at me that I was not a doctor and didn’t know what I was talking about; they never heard of it before”. I left my bibliography on the subject for them to review . I wonder if they did. I doubt it. Your expertise is desperately needed.

I'll never understand why we dont treat child molestation as seriously as we do murder. As a survivor who was a victim of child sexual abuse from ages 4-12 by my own biological "father". The pain I endured for half a century became unbearable. I dealt with depression since age 8. I became a drug addict for 3 decades. I was an intellectually gifted child who attended a school for gifted children, who consistently recieved very poor grades. I dropped out out college because my depression became so severe, I could no longer achieve academicians. I did tell my mother what was happened to me when I was 12. Her response of "get out of here you liar" was as devastating and traumatizing as the sexual abuse. Our society needs to start punishing child molesters in proportion to the crime. Reading my account of what molestation did to me, and millions if others does not warrant a one year prison sentence. Those of us who've suffered this horrible abuse will never be who we were before the first instance of our abuse. This alone, should warrant prison sentences of decades. I believe some instances of child sexual abuse warrant the death penalty. Additional, like with murder, there should be no statute of limitations for child molestation. Ever.

This lady talks like she’s never seen a ED with zero treatment area beds as often in the case in the ED. Don’t make statements that are unrealistic. Rather mention that you need to utilize nurse initiated protocols for these scenarios. Example- if it feels like you have an elephant on your chest. The triage RN can do a EKG on the spot, give aspirin, draw blood, and order a chest xray to help done while the pt in in the waiting room. I’ve seen patients treated and admitted from the waiting room if there are no treatment beds available.
