I love the electric guitar because of Richie Blackmore. I picked it up because of him. There are a lot of good guitar players that I love too, but somehow Richie is in my heart. Why? Because there is a lot of harmony in his solos. Think about how many solos of great guitarists you can sing or play with your mouth? And with Richie, it can. Simply because they complement the melody of the song, and they bring some special complementary melodiousness that makes the song memorable. The other such guitarist with a lot of harmony in the solo / although not fast / is David Gilmore. I love you Richie! Be alive and well!
