I have to say how amazing this performance is. I'm 49 and always heard this song occasionally but now that I'm older I can truly appreciate it. Especially seeing his son do this song justice. What an absolutely amazing tribute to his Dad.

from late 70s to mid 80s, we were all worried about the 1st strike from the Soviets & they were worried about the 1st strike from the "yanks".

I don't think there are any Russians... And there ain't no Yanks. Just corporate criminals, playing with tanks. -- Written in 1983, more relevant than ever in 2024.

So cool to see this. Big fan of The Call and BRMC. Just saw Simple Minds at Cruel World last week and they covered “The Walls Came Down.” The two bands toured together back in 85/86, if I recall correctly.

I've been down lately ... strange to say this but at the age of 54 I'm feeling more spiritual than I ever have before. I'm a musician, and at the age of 16 I recall hearing this song, playing it in the front room of the family home on my Mum's piano. I searched it up on the ol' Itunes yesterday and gladly rediscovered it, and have played it (along with 'The Walls' and 'Let The Day Begin') possibly over 30 times ... Life is a strange journey ... I now have lived through what Michael mentions in his song - pain, tears, shame and grief etc (not wars thankfully) ... ironically I'm restoring my old bass guitar at the moment that I bought from a friend at the age of 16 ... RIP Michael Been

Considering some of the lyrics of some of their songs. I think The Call was a clandestine Christian band 🤔😉

Yes, other famous bands have done covers of "I Still Believe", but The Call had some other songs like this one, Turn a Blind Eye, Into the Woods, etc. that just had a message and melody that work well today if covered by other bands. For example, Bono sang on one of their songs, I'd love to hear U2 do a cover of this one, given the Edge could do some wonderful stuff with the guitar parts to bring it up to date.

I saw these guys live at Red Rocks and I'll never forget the experience! They were probably the best band in America at the time. Michael Been was the best bass guitarist ever - I never appreciated bass guitar until I saw him with his band live. And his vocals were also unmatched for the passion and quality. What a great band!
