if you changed the angle of the toe-plate so it looked up more it would work better. The toe-plate is flat on the ground as you’re grabbing - the teeth should be angled up and only the back edge of the toe-plate should contact the ground when it’s closing. Plus - it’s impossible to scrape away from you with the back of the front toe-plate. Looks strong and well made otherwise though. 👍

What if you put the clip on rubber tracks on every other steel tread (instead of every steel tread)... half the cost, half the time of bolting them on. Plus a much more aggressive track in dirt, mud and snow... while still protecting the roads...

I am highly impressed by the design and fabrication work that pulled this one, out of the hat. Tell the operator, that he is a good salesman.

Very nice work guys. A couple things that were told to me over the years. Either the leading edge of the bushing should be about . 001” under the bore dia. by .1” long to allow squaring the bushing, or a counterbore.001” over the bushing o.d. for the same purpose. When you have no room for a good hammer swing, a couple plates w/ holes, a nut, and bolt will make an emergency press. Again, these things were told to me by some wizards. Stay safe.

Having lived on a farm for all of my seventy two years, with horses (12-15), and cattle, I would likely grab a scoop shovel for that amount, or a skid steer when it gets deeper. It does appear to be well constructed.

Hi john, it was only a train of thought-having not used one and doing alot of site clearance, I did buy on of your grading buckets and put a slight bend in it, but weather that was operator error or the bucket , we straightened it and put a middle re enforcing bracket in it, what do you want for a thumb for a hitachi zaxis 17-u2 ?
