Speaking of batteries. I luckily bought up an R24 in this day and age after finding these random vids and first thing I noticed how mint condition it was in until I got it home to open the battery cover to find 6 Duracell battery corrosion hell. This machine is a beast as light as it is after cleaning the compartment of no evidence it still powered up no issues and like new.

I have a question regarding the aux sends. Can you split aux send 1 into a left and right ?? Can that out terminal do that with a TRS cable?? We have 2 monitor amps, and we like to set them up as pairs. 2 singers in one paire, and the 2 other singers in the other one.

Thank you. Clear and precise explanations. I have the same mixing board and you really cleared up any confusion on my part. You have a great attitude so we don't feel too stupid not knowing stuff 😉 Great job.

Ive had mine since this video came out and still use this device. It never fails and always works, no crashes, glitches, auto updates, and all the other issues software has..plus i can bring it and record bands live without computers. I think this device is better for recording and getting your ideas down and if you want use software for later but even then, i dont use software for recording, mastering, etc. and im 37, its not like im 60 or something.

Great video, answered all my questions about fader positions between banks that the manual seems to miss. Is there still somewhere to look for the default loops that come on the sd card? I got a used device and of course it doesn't have the original card!

Question: The 1/4" monitor outputs are TRS, with the ring marked as "cold". Monitors I'm looking at do not have the center ring, but are for mono 1/4" plugs. Nothing in the manual suggests that the outputs are each stereo, or that they might be balanced on a 1/4" plug. Do you see any reason not to use regular mono 1/4" speaker cable for each side? (not instrument cable, of course)?

Might be late here but I just found your tutorials on the R24. I have to say that this is the best tutorial I have seen about this recorder. I have had the R24 for about two years and before that, I had the ZOOM with the hard drive. I can't remember the name of that recorder. LOL Had a small stroke about a year and a half ago so the R24 went back on the shelf. Now I am hoping to get back to my music and this tutorial has helped me so much and has inspired me. Thank you so much for all the effort you have put into this. Hope you are still playing with your band and I wish you all the best. 👌👍👍👍 Loved the "Burning Love" track. Great singing and playing guys. New follower here. 💯👍

@@mikeflight9 thank you man - comments like this make it all worthwhile and is why I do what I do 👊 I ended up pursuing a career in all things audio / video, now have my own forensic audio and video business helping others with issues they are facing in their lives and an audio and video post-production / field recording business. Yes - I’m still playing with the band (and doing all of our live sound, recording, mixing and mastering) so I’ve come a long way since these tutorials were made! 😂 Best wishes my friend and enjoy your music - I really really appreciate your comment 👏👊🙏

Thank you so much for taking time out to produce these tutorials on the R24 Having just purchased a second hand unit I've thrown away the manual as its just alien to me and just concentrated on your Vids. They are aimed at all levels which everyone can benefit from. You have produced THE GO TO Tutorial. Brilliant and well done !!!!!!

This recorder is garbage. When you compare your mastered music tracks to the levels of famous music tracks then you will see its nowhere near the same levels. So there's no point in using this thing. I wasted 2 years recording with this recorder. I recorded 60 tracks in 2 years that all have to be re-recorded thanks to the zoom r24 not mastering loud enough. Then if you try to master it louder in audacity then it becomes distorted. Zoom r24 is total garbage. Go to a real recording studio if you want a quality recording. All of this home recording stuff is garbage. I've never heard any home recordings that were very impressive when compared to famous music tracks and if its not your goal to have the best recordings possible, then why waste time on cheap home recording equipment? Zoom r24 was $500 when it was new and you get what you pay for. I'll go spend thousands in a real studio and never waste my time again on crappy zoom products. Thanks alot zoom. I'd like to punch the creator right in his face for wasting years of my life using this piece of sh*t. Now I have to re-record everything. Dont waste your time folks. Its garbage.

Hey there from across the world and thank you for your tutorials.. Unfortunately I must've missed some info : I can't seem to understand how to keep the EQ and REVERB that I applied to my tracks. Once I export my tracks to my computer, they're all dry and flat and it's driving me crazy... What's the trick ?
@topdazzle
@topdazzle 6 ай бұрын
There is no trick - that's exactly what's meant to happen. It's rare that you would want to "print" effects to tracks if you are then going to edit them on a computer - normally you want these tracks "dry" so that you then have ultimate flexibility in your DAW to add or remove effects and EQ as you wish. Having said that, if you want to just use the R24 for this, then just bounce them / mix them down to a new stereo file or new tracks on the device and voila - your effects and EQ will remain. My videos show you how to do this. I hope that helps and thanks for your comment!

Groovy! That was a slammin' version! You guys should do a little more 'refined' recording of it but right in that vein with that energy. Use a Mel 9 on the guitar for the choir parts but have it routed to its own speaker output, not into the guitar amp. Man, the way I could produce you guys doin' that song. It would be killer.

How do you record audio into a track Once you've assigned a drum pattern to that track? I only have an orange light for that track now. I need a red light in order to record a vocal track. How can I remove the drum pattern from that track?
