It will depend on the type of food you are fermenting. Normally, it is best to just ferment food with white salt. If you ferment it with yeast, adding yellow cornstarch will be more effective.

It's a synthetic probiotic, you can ferment it for 6-8 days and then you can use it.

@Farmer_Life2424 I have not tried the fermented taro yet but I have been using it raw without processing it. I will just slice and add to chicken feed though I don't know if there is any negative effect on my chicken.
