Well at least they survived, unlike the similar icebound Teutonic naval expedition of "Augen Unter Null" by Eisbrecher.

I just googled Norwegian Artic after listening to a guest on the Joe Rogan podcast…having listened to this eloquent masterpiece many of times. I didn’t realize how profound it is….goes well that scenery. The dark melancholy atmosphere, the clarity that it comes with….to the boys, young men and grown adults I say this….stay hungry..strive and do not settle, set goals and be accountable but full disclosure after know this brief life we hold is but a blink of an eye compared to eternity…don’t squander the precious gift of life to vanity…know that the sorrows and struggles we battle which often take place in the mind can lead to progress….

Freedom and mortal danger, cooperation and severe mutual self-discipline, call forth the virtues of the rough less-domesticated breeds of man: resourcefulness, intensive training and planning, invention, not merely brawls or predation. Thats how this track oozes the spirit of Indo-European Man.

I still maintain that vocals like this kind of ruin some insanely amazing music. I know some people like the incoherent guttural growling, but this particular song would be better with clean vocals any day of the week.

I disagree so much that I can't even put it into words. His growls are what gives the song it's depth and feeling.

I read a book called jomsviking. It said that vikings believed that dead people make start so their loved ones will remember them when they look at the star. This gives an extra meaning to this song.

[LYRICS] The icy winter is creeping near Dark skies above us Biting frost is in the air Darkness surrounds us The cold, piercing autumn breeze Fills the longship sail Soon the lakes and seas will freeze And snow will lay its veil Many years we have been away Many oceans we have roamed Now the north star guides us on our way As we are headed home The many hardships we've endured Have brought us rich reward Now the north star guides us home With cargo full of gold Many friends died on the way Only few of us survived But I would gladly take their place In Oden's hall up high The icy winter is creeping near Dark skies above us Biting frost is in the air Darkness surrounds us Soon the lakes and seas will freeze Snow will lay its veil And we will long for the summer breeze When we can set our sails
