Toptal is just expensive i'd touch them with a barge poll, they have around 100% markup on top of developer cost check their G2 reviews developers are complaining. when we had to hire developers last time, we went with CloudDevs, their competitor, transparent pricing. didn't have to pay 500 usd like toptal to just see the profiles.

How to objectively measure intelligence and excellence? And merit is often based on the subjective measurement of the former.

Experience and prior performance. In the tech , you can add related hobbies and courses to your resume. It's easy to add all your accomplishments to your resume . Why does skin colour matter . DEI has made everything it touches more racist and sexist, because it looks at everything through the lens of race,gender,politics and chances based on what it sees through that lens , most often altering to it be more problematic to the general audience , especially to people who are not in the US, like myself .
@hansmikesen6355
@hansmikesen6355 2 ай бұрын
@@snakeinabox7220the problem is that studies showed that often the same performance was valued worse if it came from a non-white or a woman. That led to an environment based on discrimination. So you either switch to anonymous evaluation or forced diversity. Both solutions have problems, the latter could lead to unsuitable recruiting the former needs lots of time

@@hansmikesen6355 There is racial based discrimination , i can not argue with that . But its been going down over the decades . And it will continues without any big global events. But DEI and forced diversity is legitimate racism , its racial and gender based discrimination. People always have personal bias, but swinging the pendulum to far isn't good . DEI ,forced diversity , gender politics and half the current US political topis about race are dividing the nation and increasing racism , tribalism. I can say this as a outside observer . Im from Macedonia, a place with actual serious racial problems. And as a person who has friends and family in the us , Canada and Australia . DEI doesnt fix anything but make more racism by drawing hard lines between the population and separating them into racial groups. At the end of the day , African Americans are still American , Hispanic Americans are still American , Asian Americans are still Americans , unless your a 1st , 2nd or 3rd gen Immigrant, your wayyy closer to each other then the Epitaph of race you put in front of the word American. TLDR : DEI / forced diversity is insulting and discriminatory based on race, adding requirements of race for a business is not healthy , and increases racism , dividing the population and work space on top of the fact it leads to hiring underqualified or less qualified people to fulfill the racial quota . it forces the business and workers to view the workspace through a racial lens

Yes, the techies want to keep it a white guys industry, so of course DEI has to go. So they are loving the conservatives push against DEI, joining in with joyous enthusiasm.

People don't give a shit about what people look like. Just if they can do the job. DEI explicitly only cares about what people look like. And that is racist.
@snakeinabox7220
@snakeinabox7220 2 ай бұрын
Why does the skin colour matter . If it's only based on Skill and talent. Then they would hire the person who fits best for the job out of the applicants. Saying that if hiring only based on skill is good for "white" people , your indirectly saying that black , Hispanic, Asian... people are less skilled based on race , that's pretty racist .

@@snakeinabox7220 here's a great example of why diversity is important. You know those automatic faucets that spurt water out when you move your hand over it? They don't work well with people of color because no one considered darker skin wouldn't activate the sensor.

Or maybe instead of basing hiring people on race, they want to hire people based on their actual skills? I don't think it's really racist to hire someone for their experience and skill on something, instead of their race
