All respect to Joe,BUT, Tom Hoye came to Australia in late 1970 with a " twin fin" that had keels and a blunt nose and a wide square tail.Bottom was flattish....LOOKED exactly like this 2006 design called a MS.Joe may have called his board a MiniSimmons but I rode the same or extremely similar shape back then.

This is a great interview with my old friend. Floyd and Larry hired me in 1969 to be their world wide rep for G&S. I learned a lot from both of them.

Hallucinations are considered to be a delicate and very complex regulation. They derive from false sensory perceptions of things that are not there, unlike illusions or delusions. Illusions are usually misperceptions of sensory things that are, in fact, there. Meanwhile, delusions are deeply fixed beliefs that are solidified by the individual despite the contrary information or evidence. When people have these simple geometrical hallucinations, the primary visual cortex is activate. This is the part of the brain that perceives edges and patterns. Images cannot be formed with the primary visual cortex. They generate when a higher part of the visual cortex, is involved in the temporal lobe, specifically the fusiform gyrus.

With utmost respect, I need to ask : The dictionary describes the word / title Inventor as " A person who invents some new process, appliance, machine or article. " An invention includes any and every usable product or process in any form. Pretty much " everything ". At least, that's how I perceive it. Again , with utmost respect, I feel that regardless of the fact that his then highly futuristic surfboard design , breaking new ground with his brilliant concept of retaining long board width his vastly shorter lengths - were not at the time in 1949 , around 1949 , early 1950s - was not as far as I know entitled MINI SIMMONS , it was , is Bob Simmons - who I personally would refer to and title as the lnventor. Importantly, I mean to take nothing away from the recent extending further of the original Bob Simmons surfboard design as I describe above because by doing this, it has made the Bob Simmons original concept - the original INVENTION - more rideable, more responsive for today's surfboard riding requirements. That is a giant step forward. But it relies on the original idea and the person who originally INVENTED this product. And as far as I have researched and can only tell through written , documented account , the ordinal inventor was Bob Simmons.

I actually ride a 9 foot soft top board and I fuckin love it. Bit heavier but I'm a bit careless when jumping off the board, and it never hurts me, and never dings. I think they ride nice too. Always fun to turn heads by shaking peoples expectations on how much the board can move.
