@@Zeronum2 It had just been randomly listed in the ECC8 section of the ECC page for forever. To be honest, we were terrible about labeling things back in the day, so the fact that this is one of the few mistakes we've had is impressive. :)

Great stuff uploading this archival footage. I remember ECC8 because it was the first Major I competed at. The part of this video that shows the arcade doesn't look like 8 on the Break, it looks to be UP (University Pinball) in Philadelphia.

I've got a lot of painful math in my head right now, but did spend a little time digging on this: if this is ECC8, this is 8 on the Break. So it might be UP but to my knowledge it's from ECC8.

@zachdms - that's understandable. I noticed that the other arcade cabs around the MvC2 cab, the MvC2 cab and the color of the walls don't match with that of The Break from the ECC8 videos. Also, being that ECC8 was in May and the weather was warm, people wouldn't have been wearing winter coats and hoodies, but in this video people are wearing winter clothing.

Duc was such a monster at MVC2 until JWong dethroned him. He won almost every tournament. I would go to a local arcade here called Gladys, after school, and he was always there with like 99 win streaks. I could never beat him.

Yeah, the switchover to consoles was in 2004, if I recall correctly. I believe this was split off the video feed from the console...? Been a long time. The projection screen qualities were solid but you would have seen more ambient effects if it was a recording of the projection.

Yeah, he's great. 2003. Mmmm - I don't think so...? The archives at zachd.com/mvc2 are still *searchable* even if the links are dead. I don't remember who all was in the NOLA crew but I think mostly I would run into Vegeta-X and Magneto-X / Pat and Chris at tournaments.

This proves it, Justin Wong sucks. He really sucks. Dark Prince went on to when multiple Evos in different games and is widely regarded as one of the top, fighting game players ever.

Doubtful. Though dark prince is probably way worse than even these matches now so there's that. Justin Wong's team is so wildly outmatched that even just winning 6 is a huge feat. Absolutely zero disrespect to Jwong but even I could beat him if he was stuck playing that team and I could pick whatever I wanted.
