As someone living there, no it isn't. The high prices just make it harder for families like mine and there's the massive amounts of homelessness caused by the housing crisis.
@LivinginSanDiego_
@LivinginSanDiego_ 4 ай бұрын
I 100% agree, we do have a homeless problem and prices are skyhigh. It's a simple cause and effect. Supply vs Demand. Our supply of housing can't keep up with the significant demand. The demand is so high because it's a beautiful city. Homelessness is also rampant because of the fatality rate of weather that they experience in the winter. San Diego's weather is significantly better than most states. Is it a problem yes. Should we be doing more to fix it...100% !!

its not 44% more expensive because of the luxuries it is more expensive because it has some of the absolute worst city planning in the developed world big single-family homes taking up 90% of the space instead of dense commercial/housing zoning like what you do when you have a lot of people in a small place aka a city. no one wants to live somewhere where 70+% of there income goes towards rent. just look at EU cities they have 1/1000th of the land space yet they still keep the rent moderate. there's an insane amount of space here yet we have some of the highest rent cost when it is 1000% capable of being the cheapest in the world.

I mean…. It kind of depends on what you’re talking about. Like boosting your emotions and giving it your all and losing and being a good loser is a great quality, but if you’re out there giving your 50% and crushing it because everyone you sucks, you’re now constantly winning and it’s just because you’re better? I feel like it’s better to just be better and crushing it haha

@@LivinginSanDiego_ Barbara made her money off of the real estate industry, not the real estate itself. Her wealth was generated from the brokerage she started. There is a massive difference there. And most real estate gurus unless they somehow lucked into buying real estate at the absolute most perfect time in history generated their wealth similarly. At most, owning a property have them the experience they needed to start a brokerage, property management company, or other business in the real estate field. In the same way that most famous traders made their money off of the business of trading rather than trading itself. It’s quite an interesting thing the more you dig down into it. The thing they say do is great for maintaining wealth, but not for building it.

I get that, but kids are a lot of work. If I toss my twenties for my kids, then I’m sacrificing my thirties, forties, and probably my fifties too. When do I get to live? Maybe I just don’t get it. I get where you’re coming from, but kids aren’t for me. I see the appeal, but not my cup of tea. Maybe I’ll adopt, besides, I’ll probably lose my fertility before 25, maybe by two years even

Paul, I hear you for sure. I think I’m not just sacrificing my 20’s for them, it’s for me too. It’ll allow me to have freedom and choice later in my years. But definitely doing this for my future family too. Everyone has their own unique upbringing and story. For me atleast, my parents were always by my side and helped me grow. I’m forever grateful for that, and I hope to be even half the parents they were to me. Even at that half, that’d be an incredible parent. Because I have that great relationship it shows me how rewarding being a parent is and I look forward to it. 😁

@@LivinginSanDiego_ part of it for me is i don’t like babies or little kids. But I do get the desire to mentor, and I have a great bond with my mother. If my sister chooses to have kids, I’ll be the rich lesbian aunt that always takes them on trips and the like. I do enjoy being a mentor figure as I’m twice as old as my sis and I love being somewhat of a guide for her. I’ve also worked at a daycare for a few years and got to be a mentor figure to the kids there too, so I do like some aspect of it, I just don’t want to have my own I guess.
