This a leaner, not a widow maker. If you're going to pull it down, make sure your line is longer than the tree is tall. As an experienced logger, I can say I fail to see the usefulness of this cut in this situation.

This was awesome. I live on a farm in the UK and cut trees for firewood but am always wary of this type of tree. I generally pull them down with a rope but the pre-cut technique you use will make that process a lot easier. Thanks and keep up the good work!

Your mother must be worried about her son felling trees after sunset. Still, good technique.

It may be a good skill to practice tossing an anchor, and lasso the trees higher up, to get more leverage. I use a socket wrench that works well, but I've seen pros use sand bags.

Just put a giant notch in it with a real chainsaw then finish it off with a pole saw from a safe 15 foot away.

If your saw is a 362c , and has a 3 position control switch it is M-Tronic.

Those machines were amazing. The prices went along with their size!!!! I can see big businesses needing them.
