Only thing is, sweet taters grow laterally under ground off a main runner-,so being in a round container may have lotsof foliage but few potatoes. Don't trust me, so i suggest you look in a gardener or ask amadrer gardener. They have a ton of books at Home Depott stores, or tour-library, or community garden peopke night help y I u. Also i suggest you check your soil ph. And maybe amend with. sand; as they need a loose friable soil. Good luck and happy gardening !😊

I see comments to remove the suckers but only do that if it's an indeterminate variety. If you do that to a determinate variety you won't get any fruit since that is where they develop. Works great for indeterminate varieties though.

Trim the leafs off the lower part of the plant for air flow and remove most of the suckers looks like u just let it go wild looks good but ur fruit production will be low prune her up a lil does wonders

Thank you. I will try it and see what happens.

Generally speaking if you have a lot of green growth but little fruit it's because you have too much nitrogen and not enough phosphorus. Change your fertilizer to an npk with a higher middle number and a low first number.
@ReapingwhatIsowgardening Жыл бұрын
I think you are right. The fertilizer I've been using is Jack's 20-20-20

Try giving the plant a gentle shake. Tomatoes are self fertile but this helps jostle the pollen into position.

I did this and it worked great except check your plants every couple of days because that screen does not eliminate aphids from getting in. I was growing some okra and didn’t look closely enough at the plants as they were growing. By the time I decided to remove the netting (they were starting to flower) I was unhappy to see the hidden aphid infestation all over the underside of the leafs and a little in front too. The netting kind of hides the aphids unless you are actually looking for them.

Looks like it’s coming along nicely! If you’re interested, a KZbin channel called “creative explained”, shows how to use kitchen scraps for various things. He has a couple of shorts about how to make natural pesticides and fertilizers if you’re interested. Wish you the best!

I subscribed to your channel. Hey you can add marigolds, green onions plants, nasturtiums you can plant all these from seed. They can go nearby or in the same pot. They help with deterring pest. I use neem oil mixture for some pest it's safer. It's so much to share and learn. I can't put it all in the text.

Hi from florida, you have a good variety. You asked about the greens. First I'm not a seasoned gardener. The greens are in the brassica family with the cabbage which is a cool season plant. You can check these few things to help. Check your grow zone it will help you with what to grow and when. Also, check the back of the seed pack it will also tell you when to plant the seeds. I have cool weather plants finishing up their yield. But I will experiment a little with a few out of seasoned things in the shade to see how they grow. I noticed your channel popped up to the side. I hope this information will help. 🌱🌿
