The political system of Russia please! I use your videos every week because I am in comparative politics at a university in DC. Many of my peers have began watching your videos from my recommendation. Thank you!

The reason I haven't done many videos on political systems in authoritarian countries is because the political systems in those countries do not really matter, only the dictator's will matters there. The systems are just rubberstamps for whatever the leader wants, basically, because there is no real rule of law. But maybe I should do a video on that! And thanks for watching!
@camilliaparedes175124 күн бұрын
@@ProfessorHellstrom Yeah I totally understand! The systems are pretty much pointless considering the leaders do whatever they want but sadly we still need to be able to explain them in class and what their purpose is meant to be and what it actually does:(. Thank you though!
@ProfessorHellstrom24 күн бұрын
I see! I'll make a video on authoritarian states. It's odd your class requires you to detail systems that don't matter, most pol sci text books on uni-level don't do that. But let's see what I can whip together!

Kamala next please! Do the whole coin and do it with appropriate methods to peel the layers back for each side. And also do parts with empathy. Not so literal - humans arent used to "safe" places so they are not comfortable and therefore not vulnerable and wont be able to drop the language to show what in the world people are pointing to That is proper meta and full spectrum deconstruction and analytics. That is what we need! Nothing else will suffice.
@ProfessorHellstromАй бұрын
Not sure what you mean. I try to keep my videos to around to 10-15 min mark for various reasons, and there's only so much you can do with that timespan.
@patricksullivan1827Ай бұрын
@@ProfessorHellstrom I'm suggesting both sides of the coin with two different videos. Do you have another video where you analyse Kamala or Biden with a similar motive - essentially to show how they are corrupt. My methods I'm pointing to beyond the facade of merely mainstream media - or at least compile media over time and compare it to actions and policies.... The technology of human control systems has become quite sophisticated in the last hundred years especially. So something like what Marshal McClure's famous adage : "the medium is the message" would help with method. What is in the meaning of the presentation : the middle ground, background? What is Trump/Harris responding to? I think most people who stand up for Trump don't even like him. He is the least worst for some people. So it's all about the "whataboutism" when it comes to politics. You could link videos. I recommend steel manning each and then come in with criticism. My background is that I'm critical of public discourse. It is overwhelmingly like high school or sophistry debate and not understanding of the milieu , or limits of logic - how facts are facts only within specific models. Which ends up being highly illogical. Modern day political and "truth" structures be like: Fool some people all the time All people sometimes But the majority at election time is all the time one needs. Public discourse has a very short term memory. Yet people still remember - especially the ones effected. Cheers 🍻

It seems like you start with a premise, and forcefit Trump's oratory/persona to match the premise.

Fascism is when the government merges with the corporations at the expense of the citizens. The American left merged government subsidized monopolies to suppress speech. Do you find that problematic? January 6th wasn't a threat to take over a global super power.

People don't really elect President in USA ,,, electoral college? Make it simpler and move to post De Gaule republic. Minute 5 The "government makes proposal for a law" Then the national assembly can make amendments. You do not say who is the government? Parliament or National Assembly - not a very clear use of terms? Powerful exec except when President has no power in the National Assembly. So that cock won't fight (geddit) Then the President chooses PM and cabinet - on what basis? Party? Good at job? representational of wider population?? Cabinet same as Ministers? Please make clear. Presume not as a third of Ministers chosen by Civil Service? Ministers top business reps then (via CS)? Unelected Ministerial core? Are Trade Unions represented then if business is? Some privatisation then de-privatisation also nationalisation. Strongly unified ? After this lecture I would say not.

🎯 Key points for quick navigation: [00:15] 🤖 France is a unitary state and highly centralized, often referred to as a semi-presidential system. [00:57] 🔍 In France, there is no formal judicial review like the American Supreme Court, but a Constitutional Council that reviews constitutionality of bills before they become law. [01:39] 🗳️ The electoral system in France used to be proportional representation, but was reformed to a two-ballot system inspired by the UK's effective governance. [03:05] ⏰ To stay in the race for the second round in French elections, a candidate needs 12.5% of the vote; otherwise, they must withdraw and support another candidate. [04:15] 👥 The relationship between parliament and executive in France is similar to that of the UK's Westminster system, with a weaker parliament and stronger executive. [06:21] 👊 The French president has significant powers, including emergency powers, referendum calling power, and dissolution of parliament power. [07:42] 👑 The prime minister is appointed by the president but can come from either the same party or opposition party; this can lead to pendulum movement between president and prime minister strength. [09:19] 🏛️ France is an archetype of centralized nation-state governance with strong bureaucracy and integrated elite networks. 12:06 *🏛️ Napoleon's goal was to set standards for French politics and restore French prominence in the mid-20th century.* 12:20 *🚀 France aimed to develop a nuclear arsenal, have troops parallel to NATO command, and oppose UK entry into the Common Market.* 12:47 *🔙 The French state's strong power has been challenged by privatization, limiting its scope, and growth of civil society.* 13:31 *👥 The president's presidency is less strong due to cooperation with opposition parties and less charismatic leaders.* 13:45 *💸 There has been a power shift towards high-tech industries, where anarchists have gained influence.* Made with HARPA AI

I’m an Egyptian Computer Science student at the university of London. While I seem to enjoy programming, I think that I have greater interest towards politics. I love reading about politics and listening to political podcasts. In addition, my country (Egypt) has been a military dominated state since the 1950’s with widespread corruption and domestic challenges like: poverty, lack of education and diseases. While we managed to successfully topple a dictator (Mubarak) and managed to elect our President for the first since the proclamation of the republic and the abolishment of the monarchy, that brief experiment with civilian rule wouldn’t last as the military regained power after deposing the elected President in a coup a year later. I applied for the United States Diversity Visa Lottery Program. I’m seriously thinking about studying economics and politics in the U.S. and return to Egypt after receiving masters in politics and join Egyptian politics. I hope to become the President of my country one day and fix many of its existing challenges that are impacting the country and its people for decades.

Hey i just came new to your channel and i like your video . I would like to say that some countries have a rare unique form of government like India which has a Quasi - federal structure a mix of both unitary and federal structure . Though officially its a federal state the central government is much more powerful then the reginal governments and has a say on wide range of issues and on *certain conditions the central government may even dismiss the state government and takeover control ( known as President's rule)* Thus it resembles like a unitary state. however there are certain areas where only states have power and these areas are constitutionally protected .
