Forgot to post this before the hate comments rolled in: A SAR pass hit Oscar right as it was making landfall in Cuba, showing 116kt winds (Category 4 130mph). There is a clear coastline bias but it does support 90-100kt so there is the possibility Oscar could have been a major hurricane.

I honestly support that analysis. IR was showing an eye just about to open with cloudtops below -70° around it, and it's likely going to be upgraded post-season.

Where i live in germany(kaiserslautern) when hurricane kirk hit europe it was actually a cat 1 and as it moved through europe and to germany it was a tropical storm and the winds were at 60mph where i live but in paris it was 70mph but the NHC didnt say that because they were to busy with milton and helene

Kirk was heavily underestimated at peak by the NHC, I hope they upgrade it in TCR. C5 Kirk can be very debatable, you can sorta say, if Lorenzo is a C5 then so is Kirk, Kirk sustained T7.0 for nearly the amount of time to consider it a C5, however only a handful of satellite estimates supported Category 5 with the dvorak average ranging out to likely VERY borderline C5, so you can have that debate.

HCC analysis has it at 140kts (160mph). Official NHC analysis has Kirk at 125kts (145mph).

There were some satellite estimations which support CAT 5 for Kirk, but the NHC refused to recognised it and still putting Kirk with 145mph.
