I'm very impressed with the history lesson that was free. Just learned more history than my grade school years, and honestly, this is a great learning experience. BIG THANKS I'm really enjoying the learning of this board art and I am planning to build myself a bed hopefully learning carving good enough to bring pleasure to anyone that sees my bed with carving added to reflect some of the antique furniture of 200 years past. I don't sale but this is my new hobby .I'm been character carving and got fairly good now believe board carving is my direction to add to furniture. I'm 72 hopefully I'll hold together long enough to get several projects completed Thanks for the motivation and the teaching

Compared to what some passionate armatures are putting out these days, His work looks more like that of a casual hobbyist than an experienced carver. The realistic painting was well done on the birds but the relief carving and caricature were not up to the standards of people like Linker, Mary May, etc. I cannot recommend Marry May’s instruction enough. I prefer to carve in the round but her relief carving tutorials always teach me something useful.

I love your work bench. Would like to see more and get some suggestions from you. I am a disabled veteran and am in a wheelchair so I need some way to get my legs under it. I had my wood cutter for firewood get me a couple of big round of madrone (an extremely hard wood here in Oregon) for axe carvings. You had a great introduction to all the things you are going to be doing I’m looking forward to. Now I’m all ready to watch you do a shorebird.

Julia was very knowledgeable back then. I saw recently on Facebook she has a daughter pretty little red head like her grandad.lol the Butz family still looking good and doing the same things with nature, traveling, and of course woodcarving.👍🏾💯

The best part is when he does the leg and tracks about the smell and feel of the pine. The carving sounds so soothing as well🤗
