Thanks for your post on the Colt Detective Special. That's a beautiful firearm. My first handgun was a Colt Trooper .357 Magnum purchased during R&R while patrolling South Vietnam. Bye the way, I prefer a heavier handgun.

what would be the advantage of choosing this particular round?
@jamesvatter57293 күн бұрын
That's good shooting for one of those stiff double actions. Not trying to be a troll here. Just asking. C&R license definitely saves money, but how much of a PITA will the ATF rules become for you?
@intheholler62122 күн бұрын
ATF hasn't bothered me yet, so the C&R is sure handy. Thanks for watching.

That’s a beauty!! I was issued a 19-4 in 1987 when I started my career. It had lots of holster wear and was probably 10 years old. Had the same TH and TT. Wish I could’ve bought it when we switched to Smith .40 cals. I still have my 19-5 2 1/2” I bought new a year earlier for off duty carry. I’ll never part with it, but still wish I had one with a 4” barrel. Great review as usual 👍

Peopel are too focused on accuracy wars these days rather than if it’s reliable or not. Accurate yea all day. Reliable, hell no. You need like 5 other parts just to make it work reliably. Barrel of the gas port of drilled wrong, Jp high pressure bolt because the tool craft bolt opening for the hammer pin os too big and causes primer blow outs. Odin works gas block, springco spring etc

Thanks for your full explanatory objective unbiased review. I've been contemplating buying one. Couple of questions 1. Any issues with the threaded barrel cap coming loose? 2. Recoil? It's so light for the size Would appreciate your opinion Thanks
@intheholler621221 күн бұрын
I put a rubber O ring on barrel and the thread protector stays on tight. I feel it does have slightly more recoil than other pistols, but not much more. It's a fine pistol and you shoot it well, then it's an excellent choice. Thanks for watching!

I used the pic rail adapter on the rear,installed a buffer tube and a brace locked in at 13 1/2" length of pull, very sturdy. That bolt hold open mechanism sheers of because its garbage. Send it back to KelTec, they'll fix it so you can send it right back a few months later. All around fun piece, however doesn't like cold temps.

Is this a good gun for consealed carry? I’m a large man. It will be in the 3 to 5 position and I’m gonna get a falco leather holster made. This will be my first firearm I just turned 30 and need to go to the range get accurate and be able to protect my family.

I’ve been hunting with, and reloading my 7 mag for over 25 years…I don’t use anything less than 140gr bullets (Nosler Accubond) on Mule Deer…not because of the bullet weight relation to animal size, but because of weight retention…

I have all 3. I think the spec is softer shooting, the competitor has a little better trigger 3 vs 3.5 pounds. But the echelon is great! The echelon is more true duty where the two smith flex into competition. I would rate them Spec, Competitor then Echelon. But all are very good.
@donio8194Ай бұрын
That's gun looks great. Is IT better than s&w competitor? Or echelon?
@TheBestGreasersАй бұрын
The competitor isn't comped. Slide is cut, but that's it. The competitor does come with the magwell like the one on this video, the spec series didn't come with it.

my only concern is the longevity of the battery. I mean it‘s solar only,so when that thing expires you can throw the whole optic away🤯 with a battery powered optics you just replace the battery

@currahee556Ай бұрын
Will the sights co-witness with an optic? Great shooting. Would you choose this over a palmetto dagger?
@intheholler6212Ай бұрын
The sights do co-witness with optic. The dagger and SAR are 2 different guns. The SAR is fullsize and the dagger is compact. The SAR is a good value for what it is, but so is the dagger. They are both good guns, you just need to decide what size you want. Thanks for watching!

You also have a review of the Kimber K6XS. Which do you prefer?
@intheholler6212Ай бұрын
Good question, and one I have yet to answer for myself. The Ruger trigger is better but the Kimber has an additional round. When picking between the 2 which I will carry that day, it is really close. I carry both, but typically carry the Kimber slightly more. Sorry for not a definitive answer, but I really like both and carry both. You cant go wrong either way. Thanks for watching.

You do not even have to lock the slide back to disassemble. Just push in button rotate down and pull slide off. I have the same gun. Got lucky in Montana found a small gun store and the owner said his store was the only gun shop that was going sell the steyr in Montana, don't know why but I bought one this gun is easy to shot. Almost like no recoil.
