strike up the band. my favorite movie. mickey rooney is the best actor to ever live. so unabashed, so full of life. It saddens me to think he went from this, to a helpless abused old man. His step son Chris "Rooney" should rot in hell. He stole from a national treasure.

Crazy how many movies they starred in in the 40s. Poor judy :( she never got to be just an ordinary girl. Curse her mother who worked and drugged her up like a mule. Also, can we admire the fact that Judy can take any basic song and turn it into a classic with that voice of hers

@@brittweasley7184 No, Mickey Rooney was a notorious womanizer and was married eight times throughout his life, while also having affairs with women such as Norma Shearer for good measure, who was old enough to be his mother. As far as I know Judy was deeply in love with him but he didn’t reciprocate, even though they were both really great friends, and Mickey eventually came to regret not pursuing a relationship with her when he could.
