Just to clarify? You were saying it’s best to have the short section of hose towards the nozzle?

great video! we found that @2:20, you want to have your Heeler about 5-10' off the Nozzle. We did an experiment where we advanced hose: 1 with the heeler directly on the nozzle; 1 with the heeler about 5-10' back; and 1 about 15-20' back. Interestingly the 5-10 was smooth like butter. Give it a shot and see what you guys like, but I think the 5-10' allowed the hose to slink-ee a little due to the varying speeds of the heeler and nozzle. being right on the nozzle was difficult for me because we had to have the EXACT timing and distance of every step and we would bounce off one another. It was tougher for the nozzle to hold an accurate pattern and tougher for the heel to mimic identical "steps" just my observations, hoping to spread the observations and experiences. regarding the comment section: lock-off/comella vs knee walk vs clamp slide, I think its important to remember that every tool has a purpose. nothing is never nor always, everything has a strength and a weakness. then when you wanna get funky, switch to your non-dominant hand. much love, stay dangerous friends

Would it be an option to Cary a section up with a nozzle, and just drop it down from the top?

I’ve actually pick one up before and one of my team members actually wanted to it by himself, But he came out with a black eye. I’ll never forget it before COVID came along.

Knee walk is better. Too much body forward during the lock off.no sounding good way to fall in a hole in the floor

I have a concern, last time i did this back in Fire training at community college, I realized i was very weak and couldn’t manage the pressure of the hose’s water and it was almost impossible for me to do the knee walk while doing U’s with the hose to do the drill properly. What strength training should i focus on in order to be able to do this drill well and effortlessly

Proper hose and nozzle packages must be the right set up for this took me to work hard to do with high-pressure lines and automatic nozzles a nozzle reaction of 68 or less should be manageable by any fire fighter focus on big compound movement lifts deadlifts squat rows bench shoulder press

What works for me is leaning towards the nozzle and allowing my weight to counter the pressure from the nozzle. It made advancing the line a lot more manageable for me while flowing. Also, keep the back elbow tucked in against the line. I hope this helps.
