Ryu / Tradition Indulge securely this apology Where silence is salient, Where silence is still. Indulge this offering, Indulge this calling, Forgive my silence. Embrace the atonement, Embrace the silent, Embrace the outpour, Vacate the angst, Atone and sing. Confess you're lonely And rest your sweetly wings. Confess you're lonely, Vacate the angst. Embrace the silent, Embrace the outpour, Embrace my soul and, Embrace the silent. Sometimes I think that these stars are Calling me back, calling me home. Sometimes I think that these stars are Calling me back, calling me home. Please accept this small offering, The dim light of gods. Come now and rest. Sometimes I think these stars are Fireflies of home, calling me. Please accept this small offering. The dim light of gods Calling me. Come rest now, Come rest well. In the silence I will atone, I will collapse in this dim light. Sometimes I think these stars are Fireflies of home, calling me. Please accept this small offering. The dim light of the stars Calling me. Call us silence, Call us, I'll atone. In the silence I'll atone. In the silence I'll collapse. In the silence I'll embrace. In the silence I'll atone. In the silence I'll collapse. In the silence I'll embrace. In the silence I'll atones. In the silence I'll atone.

After listening to this album quite a few times, I can't say the compositions are really innovative (although there are some interesting scales). However the thing that really stands out is that goddamn atmospheric sound. Just my opinion... that's what comments are for anyway.

+Qwenton Russell That's the thing that is so great about Isis: you have the relentless onslaught of "Life Under The Swatter" with its AMAZING groove breakdown at the end, and then you can ride the clouds through "Ghost Key". That band gave us so much. It's truly a beautiful thing. I hope they play together again someday so I can see them.

this album makes me want to cry. i don't remember when i've last felt such anguish and heartache in a post-metal band. everyone on their perspective instruments just come off as feeling so tired and disgusted and hurt and sad, so desperately wishing for something, grasping, trying to find something to feel like something is worth feeling good about.

I'm so happy you are able to feel such emotion from music. It is truly a gift. A lot of ppl can't process music to that degree. Oceanic and Panopticon from Isis do that for me man. Post-metal is the best man. 🤘🏻❤️

At first, I thought this album wasn't nearly as good as their previous ones, either....but...it has grown on me quite a bit. All the "one trick pony" people are hilarious. Just about every band has a "sound".
@LC-cl4rv10 жыл бұрын
Yeah but they almost never change the progressions. Even jerry Garcia ventured away from mixolydian after a few years hah
@Gumbo722039 жыл бұрын
W. E. Tucker Jerry played so much more than mixolydian! I want to like this album more than I do because Rosetta is sick, but the riffing is just kind of monotonous on this album; the songwriting is nowhere near as deep and creative as on Morality or their other albums. It's got the great post-rock thing going on with the lead guitars here, but I feel like they felt stuck and not super inspired when writing this album.
@matthewhurley44559 жыл бұрын
Gumbo72203 Have you heard that one sample track from their new album? It's actually fairly different for Rosetta - it has clean vocals, but then the heavy parts are REALLY heavy, like it balances itself out really well. I think adding Eric Jernigan to the band was the extra push they needed, the new album is gonna be a game changer for them. That said this album did have a few choice cuts on it. Ryu and Hodoku are some of my favorite Rosetta tracks.
@justinschulte23579 жыл бұрын
Yes I have heard it...and YES it's great. Adding Eric will give the band a whole new life. I'm extremely excited...as i always am for new Rosetta material.
@matthewhurley44559 жыл бұрын
Well now Quintessential Ephemera is out and I haven't heard a single negative thing about it from anyone. Funny how the band thought it would polarize the fans again because of the clean vocals and not quite as "metal" sound, but Ive heard people calling it Rosettas "comeback" album. I don't know if I agree that Rosetta fell off but it's definitely much better than The Anaesthete imo. Saw them opening for Dillinger a couple weeks ago. They only played four songs unfortunately but they killed it. They were on first for some reason and the other opening bands just couldn't follow them at all.

ISIS and Rosetta don't even compare, Isis has a raw quality whereas Rosetta is far more spacey and ambient, both are incredible bands.
@mav.-7 жыл бұрын
ISIS is much more thematic, Rosetta likes to stay with their spacey feel. Both do sound similar, but I know people who love ISIS and don't care for Rosetta, although it's harder to find people who like Rosetta but dislike ISIS. It's like comparing A Perfect Circle to Tool. Both have a lot of similarities, but one is much more harsh while one is much more organic and fluid. In this comparison, ISIS would be Tool and Rosetta would be A Perfect Circle. With those two bands as well, I know plenty of people who like A Perfect Circle and Tool, but I know quite a few Tool fans who don't like A Perfect Circle.
