Good plating but the cell phone recording just doesn't cut it. No idea what the pedal or your guitar sounds like.

I actually create my own scales all the time because I only know a few proper ones and I spend the rest of my time just finding what sounds good, basically trial and error. The only problem is I have issues remembering what I am playing and that includes even if I record myself 😂.

Great demo of this pedal. Most demos start with the bass at noon because they dont know how it works and it ruins the whole video.

The last chord in the quick change of the 3rd section of the song which starts in the C Maj 7 is shown in the books as a form of B13 flat9 but I never liked the voicing so I sub'd an Am flat 5 in this position. The end of the cycle of the progression ends with a version of B7 #9 to B7 flat 9. You can sub an F#13 - F13. But regardless, enjoy. Of course there are a few alterations you can use or chord substitutions, because honestly, the song has been done quite a bit by many, many guitarists through the years. So, expand upon the progression a bit if you like.

the point of this is to use the notes outside the normal ordinary 1,3,5 chord structures by targeting those notes instead of simply following a scale. Even if the notes aren't being used in the chords, targeting the 6, flat 5, flat 9, sharp 9, 4th, etc and emphasizing on those notes outside the norm will definitely add some substance and color to your playing.

A friend of mine has this one. I must admit that i was impressed by the sound and playability of it, regardless of the price. Compared to my most expensive guitar, a Guild JF55 which costs four times as much, I'd say that I would not be able to tell that this is a much less costly instrument. Great guitar. No compromise. Just great. There is nothing more to be said, except that it has to have new strings on to fully appreciate it, which goes for every guitar.

They don’t see to make these any more, (March 2021), the DR’s that is, they do the “Gibson inspired “... which I think is a shame because if I want a Gibson inspired guitar I’m gonna buy a Gibson! (Which I have). But really like the look of the DR with cut-out dred and musical headstock. I just came across a DR400(MCE?) like new on eBay so bought it. Can’t wait! Same as 500 but satin and less fancy fretboard markers. Anyway thanks for review, looks and sounds great!

It's amazing to me that they sold these guitars at such a price. The binding, mother of pearl inlay, solid top, back and sides, magnetic pickup and piazzo, bone nuts, and basically the entire guitar is just amazing. Epiphone has turned a new leaf these days. The new 355 is the best electric guitar I believe you could possibly get in the semi hollow body type. yet people continue to flick their noses up at them. Oh well, more for the smart people right...LOl. Anyway, thanks for your comment. I've recently acquired some new cameras, interface, etc and I am about to start making more videos of all the gear I have access to as well as some simple lessons which I plan to present with a different approach than the norm.

I'm an old fart and can therefore afford any guitar I want (it's been a fun journey since my first unplayable $10 Sears acoustic when I was 11 y/o). I have high end Martins, Fenders, Gibsons, Larivees - basically all the premium quality guitars. I was on a project in New Orleans and picked one of these up at Guitar Center when I was in the "climate controlled" room looking to buy an expensive Taylor. I could not believe my fingers and ears when I played this thing. It was almost set up perfectly from the first note. As good as it sounds and plays, it has become my go to acoustic. I can throw it in my truck and not worry about it, and because it checks all the boxes I tend to play it a lot, which makes it sound even better with time. This guitar is a relatively unknown gem. If you don't have one, get one.

Appreciate the help. Please don't forget to like and subscribe so we can get this thing going. It takes a lot of time to make some of the videos. We have now obtained new cameras, interface, etc to make the videos a bit better so hopefully in time we will have a better look. I'm just a regular guy so, I don't anticipate the moon or anything. Besides, only wanting to help other musicians out anyway. that's the bottom line regardless. take care thanks again

@@paulbiscaro578 actually, I returned it ... when I ordered it, the specs said it had two pickups and two output jacks, the one I received only had one pickup and one output, it also used a 9v battery instead of the expected coin batteries and had a different electronics panel, though the price wasn't lowered for the other half of the electronics not being on it ... and it had some assembly flaws that I didn't think qualified it for the "Masterbilt" label ... I'm not down on Epiphone, I've bought an AJ-220SCE and an EJ200 "Coupe" and enjoy them both ... but wasn't positively impressed with the "Masterbilt" and am a little wary of Epi's stated tendency to change specs on the fly and without notice

arthur ogle you’ll be sorry that you didn’t get the 500. No comparison can be made between the 400. The DR500 is a Masterbilt series which includes all of the attributes of any top of the line acoustic guitar. Dovetail, solid wood all the way, great electronics and great build in general with the addition of premium hardware. It is and will always be one of the best production acoustic guitars ever built not to mention probably the best value ever. But to each his own. The “brightness” or “darkness” is the string type and eqsettings. As stated in the video this guitars versatility is phenomenal. Only time for a general overview in the video though. Best wishes and good jammin to ya
