I am finishing a remodel on my home in Colorado, USA. Upon completion I intend to sell it and move to Lake Atitlan and maybe rent a small bungalow or purchase a small house if I can afford it. I don't want to spend all of the money to purchase a house or I will be stuck with living on just my social security retirement... Is it possible to live aboard a small boat?

no rights of possession are indefinite meanwhile you possess it. government lease hold are maximum for 30 years contract but it is renewable un definitively meanwhile you are up to date with your rent

If you want to be in the historical center where the house can be expensive in the $ 500k or in the suburb and development where you can find any prices... define small property. For renting under $ 1,000 per month easely but it all depends of your life style
