I gave up shaving due to depression and the constant pang of failure when it doesnt go smoothly and it barely makes a difference. I decided to wax and seeing this video it makes me feel so much better and it really helped xx

Never go near your period (or on it), take 2 Ibuprofen 30 minutes prior, and make sure you're clean. It's not so bad LOL

Silly question: is it okay to put hard wax directly on the wax pot without those tin/silicone inserts?

It all depends on the wax you are using! Some waxes set faster than others so you just have to adjust to it!

How do you use your Alexa to turn on your pot for you?? 🤔
@rosenava
@rosenava Жыл бұрын
I have an Amazon smart plug that connects to the Amazon app on my phone! Because I want the plug to turn on the wax pot whenever I want, I leave the wax pot on and in the settings I need it in. The plug is always connected to wifi and so every morning, I just go on the app, turn on the smart plug to turn on my wax plug! At the end of the day, I'll go on my app again and turn the plug off which turns off the wax pot too!

What kind of wax is recommended to use for thick hair??
@rosenava
@rosenava Жыл бұрын
Honestly, I have no wax recommendations at the moment for thicker hair however I prefer using hard wax with clients who have it. Always use quality waxes from well known brands (Cirepil, Starpil Wax, etc). No matter what wax you use, it all comes down to technique.

As a solo esthetician, how do you handle walk ins who want information and you happen to be with a client? Are all appointments made over phone only?
@rosenava
@rosenava Жыл бұрын
I never took in any walk ins however if a potential client were to come in and ask for information before an upcoming client arrives, I'll gladly answer any questions they may have. Always be considerate of your client and know that not everyone is willing to wait for you to talk to another person during their allotted time. As for appointments, I utilized an online booking system making it easier for clients to book on their own time and it was a lot more organized on my end.

That’s depression. It absolutely sucks when something that brings you so much joy doesn’t anymore. 😢 and people don’t realize how hard it is to push through that esp when your taking care of yourself. I’m so glad you are able to take a break and take care of yourself bc many don’t have that opportunity. I’ve been a pro MUA since 2016 and esthecian since 2019 but doing it all by yourself is HARD.

This is why for first timers I do one or two test strips first that aren’t too thin but not too thick either and tell them that usually the labias are even alittle but more painful. The pain last for a few seconds and I alwayssss make sure to apply GOOD pressure after. Let me know if you think you’re good because once I start I’m not stopping unless you’re super super uncomfy and just don’t think you can do it. I also always ask if the temp of the house wax is ok too. I’m constantly just reassuring my client and also asking if they’re ok. I’ve had pretty jumpy clients but nothing like this. I feel like I would’ve stopped the service and ask for them to come back IF they want too.

Do people ever tell you that putting pressure on certain areas that have like a tendon or something is painful?
@rosenava
@rosenava Жыл бұрын
I've never had an issue with pressure on a client before, however, when pressure is being applied, it shouldn't be so much to hurt anyone; only enough for the wax to really make contact with the hairs for a cleaner removal.

I've been an esthetician for over 20 yrs and have only done soft wax, which i love. I've been opposed to hard wax bc I just dont feel it gets all the hair. Lastnight, I had a former EurWax employee cone to my salon to train me a little. It's def a very different technique and mindset from soft wax. Jury still out for me, but I'm looking further into it and will continue to practice. Thank you for this video. What waxes do you recommend?
@rosenava
@rosenava Жыл бұрын
For a slower drying wax, I love using Starpil's Starsoft wax - perfect for large areas and to lay multiple strips at once. For a faster drying wax, Cirepil Blue is a great one - works best in small sections and it's great for thick/coarse hairs!

What about the folds in the labia? I'm considering having a Brazilian done so I'm inquiring
@rosenava
@rosenava Жыл бұрын
Typically the waxer applies wax where hair is present and it's really no different in the labia area. If I see a client has more hair in the folds, I will just go a little bit more inward with application while covering the inner labia to ensure no wax is applied in or near very sensitive areas.

I felt this! I’m almost done with my basic esthetics program and I swear in-person clinic days are so exhausting going from client to client but I always feel so satisfied after completing another treatment! I love see the results and confidence boost I give my clients but even still I find it hard prioritizing my own self care especially since I’m still working two part time jobs. I’m planning on going straight into the master esthetics program in June for another 8 months 😭 I know it’ll be all worth the sacrifice in the end but I’m definitely taking a vacay after I’m finished with school. Enjoy your self care time! 💜

What is your opinion in working in a medspa as an esthetician?? I’m in the works of getting my license but I’m pretty scared of being self employed.

If you're able to work at a medspa as an esthetician, go for it! Even if it's at a chain, build experience and always look to further your knowledge in esthetics. Being self employed isn't for everyone and it takes a lot but it's definitely rewarding! Good luck on your journey! 💗
