Im stitching it on a piece of 28-count Khaki linen from Zweigart, and using one of the variegated DMC flosses (#4025) and DMC #3803 for the cranberry color.

I just started this pattern and am wondering where the heck the gold beads go. They don't look like they are attached in the picture and the instructions talk about them but they don't appear anywhere in the actual pattern

I'm sorry it's taken so long to respond, but I can't find my pattern anywhere :(. I do recall that the beads show up (barely) on the pattern as little colored dots. Maybe dark blue? I know there's a few random beads on the wing of the French Hen, and also somewhere on the Soldier's uniform (maybe cuffs or socks). I know this isn't very helpful, but when I actually FIND my project bag I can look and confirm for you :)

Hello, Phoebe. Thank you for the compliment, and I want to say that I've been enjoying your videos 😃 For this pattern I am using some of the overdyed colors from GAST, and the more neutral colors using DMC. I also went with my own "black" using 1 strand of DMC 310 and 1 strand of DMC 3799. It gives a softer look and blends more seamlessly with the other colors. Thanks again for watching!

Hi, I’m kitting up Hoity Toity. Would you mind sharing with me the colors that need more than one skein. I bought a hank of black silk, so I should be good there. Your stitching is beautiful.
@inthecraftroom9724

Hello, Susan. Thank you for the compliment 😊 I am doing a mix of DMC and the Gentle Arts threads, and I must say that you would easily need 5 skeins each of the hand-dyed colors, plus more. I am using the called for "Holly Berry" red, and that color has used about 5 skeins already and I'm barely passing the half-way point. I'm pretty frugal with my threads, so I'm definitely not wasting the hand-dyed colors. You don't get much per skein, so either lay in a good supply right from the start, or possibly use all DMC if you'd like to save the money. The three most-used colors I've found to be the "Holly Berry", "Tea Rose," and "Ginger." It sounds like you've got plenty of Black, which is the most-used color 😊 Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for this video! I am trying to learn to use the oxide sprays that I bought and I think that I can use them with a sponge too! I know that this video is 5 years old and please don’t take what I am going to say as bad, but rather just something to think about because I am definitely not perfect either! I use those little make up sponges over and over just by squeezing the paint out In clean water. It works great and keeps a little bit of plastic out of the environment. I hope that you are still crafting!! Beautiful makes!💕

Thank you so much for your comment, Donna. When I use those sponges for applying my makeup I can rinse and re-use them a few times, but they don’t hold up for me in the craft room. They crumble and tear and make a big mess, so I don’t bother anymore. But I certainly agree that every little bit we can do to help the environment is very important 😊. Have fun playing with your oxide sprays!

Hello, thank you for your nice comment. I am stitching this on a piece of Lugana "Mushroom" 28-count even weave, 2 over 2. I think the holes would be easier to see on linen, but I really don't like the inconsistencies in linen.

I don't like having many WIPs either. They nag at me. My mom would start projects and never finish them and it bugged me. I'm still waiting on the lamb stuffed toy she was making for me. And I'm 61 and she's been dead for over 40 years...lol I'm beginning to think she won't finish it!

I was going to email you but I couldn't figure out your email address. I'm not thrilled about leaving public messages. I am expecting my 12 Days of Christmas Santa kit any day now. By the way, you should add the word Santa to your description because Jim Shore did different chart called 12 Days of Christmas. I just started stitching this last August so I'm still learning. While looking at the part you have already stitched, I noticed the pattern has shiny gold thread in it. Is the gold thread hard to stitch with? Are there any tricks or special techniques when stitching with it?
@inthecraftroom9724
@inthecraftroom9724 Жыл бұрын
There is some very thin gold thread in the kit, and I have a few suggestions. They don't include enough of the gold to double your strands, so the coverage is quite thin. You will also want to use a shorter length of it when stitching, maybe no longer than 10" on your needle. I actually went over my gold stitches with a very similar gold thread I had in my stash to give it better coverage. If you don't have that yourself, you could stitch the area with a golden colored floss first, then add the thin gold on top of it for sparkle. Once it's all done, backstitched and everything, I think it looks good regardless 😊

Hello, Danielle! I used the Sensyne 62" Phone Tripod that I bought on Amazon for $20. It can hold your phone horizontally or vertically, and it can adjust to any height you need. I have it standing as close to my chair as the legs will allow, with the phone angled down to my stitching. The only drawback is that you can only film from a side angle instead of directly overhead. You could stand it in front of yourself for a beautiful direct shot, but my poor vision means I'd be too far back to see my stitches 🥺. Anyway, hope this info helps, and thank you so much for watching!
