Bethesda doesnt understand shit. I just played through that area a few days ago on Special Edition. The entire lower area is littered with bodies full of loot and even a treasure chest, yet the current from the waterfall is so strong that any follower that accompanies you down there is unable to swim out. They get pinned to the wall where the water flows out.

And if you already know one of the other 2 words and do this, they'll teach you the second word, letting you get the full shout all at once (cutting at least one dungeon crawl out of the equation). My personal method is to head to Volskygge, climb up the hill to avoid the whole dungeon, Grab the word of the shout and then immediately start beating the shit out of Volsung. For whatever reason, if you start hitting him right when he's coming out of his sarcophagus, his AI completely breaks and he just stays in place and lets you kill him without a struggle, so long as you keep hitting him. Free Word of power AND Free Dragon Priest Mask as early as you want (and it's the most versatile mask of them).

I discovered it during the whole Madarach madness situation. Basically, I left the city when the dragonborn character was still framed for unaliving someone. I kind of exited by accident, but in any case, I let like twelve guards fire at me from a distance as I leveled up Light Armor and Block. From there, I observed some weirdness with arrow trajectories that led me to the shenanigans of that interesting riverway into the crenellations or whatever. 💪😎✌️ Needless to say, I eventually did the "ya gotta go to jail and lose yer gear" thing just to keep those yappin' eejitz from irritating the living sheet outta me, lol! 😂 Then, I bought a house with all the furnishings.

I always do it that way since I stopped joining the Companions after getting all the achievements with them. I can get the Animal Allegiance by simply climbing on the outside but this one requires some planning. You can do the same with Whirlwind sprint if you want to find one word wall less.

Neloth already exists in Elder Scrolls 3 and you can end him. But since he's alive, so his death is not canon.

I usually head to Sunderstone Gorge to get the first word, then make sure I have a spare dragon soul when I talk to Paarthurnax, so that I can do this, and avoid having to do the Companions' questline -- the only way to get into Dustman's Cairn, where another Fire Breath word is located. Most of my characters are "good", and don't want to be werewolves or vampires. I'd avoid all the Daedric quests, too, if I could (yes, I know: there are mods out there for that).

Quite useful if you want to learn the full shout without doing the Companions quest line.

Being praised for killing Madanach is really nice. It comes with losing a pretty neat set of enchanted armor, which also is the only unique Forsworn armor in the game, but it's nice to be praised. Shame the collector in me makes me choose armor over praise.
