The Martin sound like trash can compered to the big bright sound of the Washbourne unfortunately sorry to say and I own Martin guitars. Just add them 1st few notes of Washbourne you can really hear the mids and the high timber of the build. I love it.

Interesting that the Martin has a "12th fret" marker on the 7. Can't say i've seen that before

Nice video, thanks 😊 I bought a 2nd hand Washburn WD 7 S dreadnought from their harvest series some time ago, and was very surprised when I found out that this was actually a quite inexpensive guitar. The price may be entry level, but the guitar definitely is not. Very rich and full sound, great playability, good workmanship. I really like her. When it comes to acoustic guitars, Washburn offers some of the most interesting stuff in the market.

What strings did you go with for whole tone down?

This guitar wasn’t mine; but typically, I would go with a heavier gauge (maybe 12-13’s. Although… the light gauge gave it an extra slinky vibe

Am stunned ! Purchased my Washburn because of it's UNIQUE tone, which I thought I would NEVER hear on another guitar... and... here again, is that same/similar unique tone ! Luvv it ! Was in a Music Shop that changed "nut" on another of my guitars and while browsing (?) noticed the 'tight' grain in the timber (?) Lifted it down (as you do) and first slow strum and SOLD ! Thanks heaps for the demo... 🤠...

Martin's are like a classy lady that comes from old money but is a bore in the sack. Washburns are your highschool crush that get a little tipsy at the county fair and come make out with you for the night. Which sounds more fun to you buddy

I was lucky enough to find two Washburn guitars D56SW and D52SW in 2008,...and after that I sold my Martin HD28. I still have those two Washburn guitars and they sound better than ever before. Make no mistake, I don't think these two Washburn guitars are better than the Martin HD28, but the difference was so small that there was no reason to keep the Martin HD28.

Nice playing I just picked up a Washburn D21 sn Rosewood back & sides . It was dust-Teeee but no issues other than a few dings , scratches. I was going to clean put on new strings and sell it untill I strummed it . I have and I've had some of the best acoustic guitars . This guitar is a keeper . Not the best but up there in tone , balance, neck , playability. And for $24 plus new strings SIRENS !!!!

That’s a great tone from that there Washburn. You got lucky with that one. I’ve found that their consistency is often poor and perhaps that’s why as a brand they have never scaled the dizzy heights of the ubiquitous Martin brand. That said I’ve played some odd Martin’s too and the SH market is flooded with fakes. Good video thank you

Washburn go back a long way and actually introduced the first dreadnought sized guitar in America. More recent Japan/Korea/China Washburns are very well made and though they can appear similar, are different according to original price.
