Thanks for sharing, after many years on the radio testing many ants, I now only use vertical on tx and dipole on rx. Best vertical is elevated with only 4 radials, 2 S points better. 73 zl3xdj

Back in the 80's there was a very odd but very cool family of geniuses in my small town, and according to legend, the 2nd oldest son, Eric, who was about my age, wrote his SAT essay in Chinese. As the story goes, the school somehow had the essay translated, and Eric scored an A+. When asked where he learned to write in Chinese, Eric responded: "Short wave radio".

This is far too much a problem; I hear too often. People don't listen. People do not listen to the Station calling and giving directions. I First LISTEN (even for half hour) and make sure to have their callsign first. Then if I can hear them well, I make attempts for contact no matter CW or SSB.

Hi Raisa. It is crazy some of the bad behaviors I have heard on the HF bands. I am an avid DXer and this happens more than I wish it would!!

New ham here I made this mistake one time started calling with out listening someone set me straight LOL very glad they did. Its actually made things easier.

I prefer groundplane. For your dipole cost of the bigshot is higher than cost of the antenna 😄
